If you are the type who just wants to send messages endlessly and never make plans to meet in person, then just stop reading right now. Does this mean I have to sleep alone until I am dead or do I have to act like a jerk to find a nice lady to spend some time with?I look like my picture and I am my stated age. I have a job, my own place, and a car. I like to drive, keep up with baseball, go fishing, and I am, of course, open to all sorts of other entertaining things that occur in the area all of the time. I like all things aviation and railroad related, museums, movies, technology, and music. I am also into photography to a certain degree, mostly documenting family and friend events and other things I find interesting. I am here because doing things alone is getting boring and tiresome. Short, one sentence profiles.5. Misspelled words in your profile (spell check, ladies).6. Unhappy looking pictures. You're prettier when you smile!!7. Endless messaging conversations that lead nowhere. This is playing games with someone...8. Getting a link to a webcam site after I message someone, ugh!Of course, there are more.     Feeling a bit like a fish out of water. After living on a sailboat for 16 years, I have finally moved back ashore.     I love music - it is really the driving force for me. My friend and I have been playing open mics lately. Maybe I'll get a band together too. I am not really a mainstream guy - I don't watch TV, and only slightly keep up with sports. That said, I do like football; I just don't make the time to get caught up in it. I am more into the arts, especially music (see my first line, above). I have a PhD in philosophy, so I can have a deep conversation. But usually I try to stay on the humorous side. Besides my full-time job, I teach philosophy classes at a local university. I am also involved with some local non-profits.I practice Buddhist meditation. It's not at all necessary that you do the same; it's just something to know about me.Although I may not be the best at talking about current pop culture (since I don't watch TV), I think I'm a good conversationalist (once you get used to my oddball sense of humor). I am introverted so have trouble meeting people at bars. Plus, that's not a great way to meet, for ***, people who don't drink! So here I am! First date can be anything that gives us a chance to talk. If you would like to go to a nice restaurant, I'm happy to buy you dinner (or lunch, brunch, etc.) A walk in the park could be just as nice, especially on a nice day. If we go on some more dates, I like events such as concerts and plays. They are fun and give us something to talk about. So if you like to go out and do something on a Friday or Saturday evening, then let's get together and do it!
