About Me

It has been said, possibly by me, that by male standards, all women are crazy but that by female standards, all men are pigs. I am not a pig (references upon request) and I was rather hoping to meet a non-crazy woman. My ideal would be a woman who could be my best friend and yet still look totally hot in heels and a skirt. Most of my male friends are barely passable in a skirt and walk like a duck in high heels but that is a story for another time."Who am I?" you wonder and what makes me think that I deserve one of the apparently few and oh so elusive sane women left in the world? A fair question... I am a decent and honest man (stop smirking - it could happen) who can actually express his feelings and his thoughts with equal clarity. I am quick witted and funny in a quirky way beloved of teenage girls and old women. Teen-aged girls love me for my sense of humor and hopeful flirtiness while old women love me for my impeccable manners and old fashioned chivalric sense of right and wrong. Sadly, I am not attracted to either teenagers or the Geritol set. Well...not in that special way. Okay a bit but I do not act on it. Somewhere around ***the world changed and I seem to have missed the memo. Was that a bit over the top? Well it is late and at this point I am pretty sure I am talking to myself.Who will Miss Right be? Oh first and foremost she will have a wonderful sense of humor and adventure. No broken sparrows for me. I have spent a lifetime loving women who were hurt and mangled inside and though I feel for them still, I have finally learned that I can not heal them. Just for the record, a wonderful sense of humor is NOT the ability to laugh at others but the ability to laugh at yourself. Big difference. I am ex-military and have traveled the world, a historian and political scientist, coach and teacher and a father of two wonderful grown sons.
