About Me

I am soon starting a new chapter in my life. I will student teach in the fall and graduate in December (then the job search begins). I retired from the U. S. Navy in ***after 20 years of service. I enjoy sports (especially golf and football), hanging with the family, and movies.I have two step-children from a previous marriage that I keep in touch with and two children that I am raising. The two I am raising are my great-niece and great-nephew. She is six and he is five. They call me daddy.I was reading a profile today that said her glass is half full. It made me laugh. My step-daughter asked me once when she was in middle school if I felt the glass was half empty or half full. I told her, "It depends." She looked so confused. She told me I cheated!! lol.I cannot play any *** did try the banjo for a little bit, but I could not commit the time to it. I listen to mainly country music and classic rock. I have four tattoos and they are on my arms. I do not ride a motorcycle. I like to take long walks and wish I had more time to run. I will never be rich (money wise) because I am a retired sailor and soon to be a teacher. I'm a little over weight. It is tough to handle my kids when we go shopping. I spent 20 years in the Navy as a gunner's mate and common sense in our creed. I believe I am old fashion and that trust and communication are the keys to a great relationship.I am looking for an old fashion women that enjoys life, family, community, and children. I would also like if this very special women could tell the difference between there, their, and they're and know when to use each in a sentence.     1. Talk about your hobbies. => Ok, we don't have that kind of time. I have lots, mainly artistic.My current obsessions are making wee steel roses out of bottle caps, painting (wet on wet oils a-). I like to go fishing, mainly so I can sit in stillness next to the lake. Generally, I'll be working on two or three projects. I talk to people in line at the supermarket. Some of them look at me like I'm crazy (which is true to a degree), but strangers sometimes have the best advice. I'm often silly, which causes some folks to say I don't take life seriously enough -- I'm of the opinion life will be serious enough on it's own, you don't need to help it out! I pet strange dogs if they let me. I love dogs! They are unfailingly honest and virtuous. I'm honest to a fault (Disclaimer three lines down).4. Talk about your taste in music. => Anything but modern country. Old school country is all right. I love to go out and dance once in a while.For my day job I work for a megacorporation processing scientific information related to the production of lubricants. It's more fun than it sounds!OK, I'm sorry, I lied -- I'm 5'7", not 6'1". It's just marketing and the difference between two of you reading this and two hundred.I have two boy dogs and two girl cats. The cats and I have an understanding. I love my boys with the burning intensity of a thousand suns, and hope to live up someday to how they see me. That's all for now.
