hobbies, well I'll try just about anything really, and probably have. For Sept/Oct ***it seems my hobbies are maintaining/repairing my house and my vehicles which is always great as theres a well laid out plan, cup of tea, tools laid out, time for an hours job set aside..... So for the next ***months or so I will be at home, attending to all the things Ive neglected when I have been galavanting around the world on my 'holidays' these last few years (as my sister tells me).Love to travel and Im not talking about 2 weeks on a beach in spain or a weekend in Blackpool. Sitting in the warm watching rain/snow bounce off windows can be as magical as watching the sun rise over the desert.... ...well nearly ;-)I dont like to watch life passing me by, theres too much to do and experience.Im lucky enough that travel can be a big part of my job and I hate travelling alone although sometimes it makes you glad to be back! Goals and aspirations - Id love to be an astronaut but unfortunately age, the body and lack of talent might be a disadvantage, but wont stop me reaching for the sky, even if tiptoes is the closest I get. What makes me unique? Well a lot of my friends say Im unique, but usually theres a swear word in there. I think most of the time its a compliment but not always...My taste in music? Id say I like a good mix but I think after turning 40 Im turning into my dad. In most cases that would be a good thing but whilst saying to the nephews 'who is that, what are their influences' in my head my dad is saying 'thats just noise'. Ive even sung (badly) with a Juno winner whilst attempting to play a bodhran using a pizza box. (another long story).I work a lot with the arts so have a good appreciation of music, theatre, dance and live entertainment in general (include sport in that as well). Im an avid movie/filum guy and like home cinema as my neighbours will no doubt testify, with a wide range of cinema tastes.Im not really in to sitting of an evening watching soaps and all that, life is far too short, saying that Im sitting in front of a computer typing in a description on a dating site. Still, carpe diem.Whilst Im not a stranger to a suit and tie, Im more of a combats and t-shirt/fleece with trainers type of guy. And no Im not getting too old for that!I am a driven person (well have to be to be self employed this long) but I do really value my friends and my family. I do sometimes work long hours/am away from home but would you really consider what I do work? I enjoy what I do and I do it because it suits what I want to do and who I want to be, if that makes any sense.I dont do the whole gym thing, I did sign up for a gym once and I did actually go a couple of times a week but theres only so much leering at the womens spin class they will tolerate... (I tore ligaments in my ankle, so much for using the gym to keep fit). I have been known to walk the legs off people and feign paddling a kayak whilst drowning. Thought Id update this to answer a few questions *** I married? - no. Never have been.Do you have any baggage. Oh dont get me started, travel is a large part of my job and I have bags to suit every trip duration, every weather, every airline with their changing baggage allowances and... oh hold on, thats probably not the type of baggage you had in mind. Are you really the same age as your profile? Yes I am, dont let the grey hair fool you. I started going grey at 16ish which at the time was cool because I never ever got asked for id in a pub. That wore off last year in North America when standing in a supermarket behind an aul dear who was buying 8 large tins of cat food and a gallon of margarita mix I got asked if I wanted the seniors discount... I didnt know if I should be mortified or ask how much the discount was... ...my one small consolation is that its a family trait, either grey or completely bald... ...and every time my brother gives me stick about it I remind him of that, and the fact he isnt grey...I do have a job and yes it involves some travel but its mainly self assigned, I decide where to go and when and for long. It is arts and corporate related. What pets do you have? Tropical fish tank in the house and small goldfish/nature pond in the garden. Id really like a dog but couldn't really look after it with the time away. Do you like cats? Yes, but I couldnt eat a whole one. Single man with a cat? Seriously? So if you have read this far down and I havent scared you all off then, drop me a message. definitely a coffee somewhere out in public with lots of exits. Arrange for a mate to call me after 20 mins in case I need rescuing (although most times they just leave hanging there).Trying to dress like a member of the human race rather than just looking like turning up in the clothes I slept in. Trying not to talk about myself too much or on the other hand, trying to make sure I get a word in edgewise.Enjoying the whole experience

Hello ladies, I am a single dad of 3 great kids aged 15, 17 and 18 and grandad to a beautiful baby boy. In an academy with the under 11's helping them with social, emotional and behavioural development and love it. I get to help the kids and their families aswell as have a bit of fun, I love it!I am very family orientated and very sociable although I do like some "Me" time which I would like to share with someone.I love the outdoors and regularly go for walks in the Peak District, Derbyshire Dales, Snowdonia etc. and love walking on the beach. For entertainment I am happy to go to the cinema, pub etc but just as happy at home with a nice red wine. I play guitar, paint and draw and do like to cycle, play tennis, golf etc. When at home I do like to cook and can multi-task (That comes from many years of being the only one in the home to do everything. As a person I am very patient and sincere, kind and understanding and a good listener. I love the idea of helping and making people feel better about themselves. With regards to relationships, I am very loyal, dependable, romantic, tactile and love to have fun. I like to be out and about. Also, I don't believe in reincarnation, I did in my past life but I don't now and I tried tap dancing once but kept falling off :P.My aim is to find that someone who can make me feel as important to them as they would be to me."To have a wife/partner is to have a best friend. Someone to hold not push away, someone to whisper "sweet nothings" not to shout and curse at. A woman is not to be *** not be smothered, loved not hated, comforted not hurt. A woman is not a piece of meat to stare at and abuse but a delicate flower to flourish. To walk hand in hand in public with the woman you love is not a shameful deed but an expression of pride, pride in the one that makes you feel like you are walking on air every day of your life."These are my thoughts, what are yours? Also, I have written a song for whoever decides to be part of my life, the first verse:"I cant live without you, you're the breath that fills my lungs.I cant see without you, you're the light that guides my way. When you're with me II cant help but feel alive.when you're near me I, i know that everythings alright." In a public place like a cafe, restaurant, pub followed perhaps by a walk somewhere picturesque.

I'm a laid back guy who's passionate about life. Kind, fun loving, easy going, love life and what it offers. Always keen to learn and experience new things especially the ones I would never have saw myself participating in 10 years ago.Have a great career and job that I work hard at and enjoy, probably work too many hours but helps to pay for the the nice wee extras in life. Would be good to find someone who in turn would be a good reason to work less and I could finish at 2pm everyday!Enjoying the finer things in life nowadays *** every other weekend on the drink, though not sure if its just the thought of a 3 day hangover that puts me off now! Still like a few beers but just not the need for it Fri to Sun all the time.Have a son who's 15 and my best mate and who I love spending time with, though it seems to be that I am starting to be bumped for him to spend time with his mates more often nowadays.Enjoy my holidays and weekends away, price of flights nowadays it would be a shame not to take advantage.Enjoy a good meal and will try anything nowadays, less fussy as i have aged, where foods concerned at least!Enjoy most music and nothing better than watching a live band. Stone Roses this year which was a cracking weekend, Charlatans, The View also and Roger Waters next month, can't wait.Like to be out and about and not waste a day/night sitting about doing nothing. Love getting my headphones on and getting out for a cycle, either road bike or mountain bike. Enjoy the gym, tennis, badminton and the odd swim.Don't watch much TV, though getting into some box sets now and again, do enjoy a movie but if TV is on then more likely be a documentary, nature or political programme on.Can't get my head round why people are so bitter and happy being unhappy, life's too short and you can't change the past so get on with it and try and enjoy life and if you can't then don't message me!Hate racists (especially the 'I'm not racist but see they......') and people who hate for the sake of hating. And yep I know I look like a thug but looks can be deceiving, and a photo seems to bring the worst out in me!Enough from me, anything you want too know, then fire away. Whatever suits, as long as it can be a laugh and see how it goes.
