About Me

Before I get in to my profile proper, I'm going to be upfront and say that I'm non-vanilla - I'm the 'M' bit of BDSM. If you have no idea what this means, it is probably worth your while looking it up before proceeding any further. If you are still reading, you are either interested, morbidly curious or you don't have a clue what the previous paragraph meant :)As a further 'honesty' declaration, I should mention that I will only date smokers - even though I'm a non-smoker. Pretty shallow - I know - but given the way I'm keyed, it would be unfair to all parties to do otherwise.I'm guessing that at this point I have more chance of being struck by lightning, in a cave, on the moon - than to actually have anyone still reading...But just in case, I'd better describe the more conventional aspects of my character...I'm relatively intelligent, possibly a little romantic and can be introverted - though my friends don't think so! On the whole I'm pretty relaxed about most things and I'm pretty broad-minded. I'm also reliable, genuine and loyal.Though a little shy at first, I am fun to be with and fairly adventurous - I like to try out a lot of new things - at least once! I love going out for meals and having the odd night out and about having drinks. Though in the latter case I normally end up on the dance floor - not sure if that's a good thing or not - but it does tend to attract female attention. In fact the last time out I actually got filmed by some girls :/I'm a typical geek and have more hobbies than you can shake a hairy stick at - including such highlights as Wildcamping, Hiking, Board Games, Programming, Astronomy, Sci-Fi, Gaming, Playing Guitar and Music in general. I do like to travel, to visit new places and experience new things, so my ideal partner should be travel friendly.Music wise I love heavy rock, with my favourite bands being System of a Down, Nirvana and Placebo. I also like classical music and hope that one day I will get organised enough to watch a real orchestra play Beethoven's 9th.I do play the guitar and even write and record my own music on occasion. Though I should mention that I haven't made any claims as to my competence here :)My aspirations are to initially go out for mutual fun and then if things click - maybe more. This way the first meeting is a 'no-pressure-just-have-fun' type meeting!Ultimately, I'd love to meet a women that I can connect with - I guess deep down I believe in the concept of soul-mates even if it does sound a little corny. Although I don't have a car, I do have a full car and motorcycle license. I tend to use public transport, that way one can get to work, whilst reading a good book, without getting stressed by our congested streets! If you have read this and are still interested, you should probably get in touch as we are likely to rock each other's worlds. Looks are not that important to me, it's more about the connection of personalities. I'm not into long protracted online message exchanges. Obviously there needs to be a few to establish common ground, but it is much easier to get to know someone by meeting up - and this is coming from Mr Shy-Person! I have personally found that I get just as nervous on the first meet-up regardless of the number of messages exchanged and suspect that most people do too, so why not get it over with? :)I think the first date should be for some drinks, alcoholic or not in a stress free public environment with no pressures or strings attached - or perhaps even a walk around this great city of ours. I was going to recommend bungie jumping just to be different, but I suspect that it might inhibit conversation somewhat.

An enthusiastic, passionate chap who operates as an industrial designer by day, with a special interest in sustainable design, meaning that I can wire a plug and fix stuff. A former volunteer radio DJ and producer who is described by friends a natural raconteur and easy, entertaining and fun company. In summary, I'm just a regular guy looking for a regular girl. Now read on if you want to find out more, such is the protocol of POF!I work for myself (design consultancy) which is as much a lifestyle choice as a vocational one. I consider myself fortunate to work in a profession that provides great rewards, and as a freelancer, a lot of independence. I produced/presented a show on a radio station for almost 5 years. I was once told that I have a good voice for radio, and the rest is history. It was a lot of fun and opened many doors for me. And like most people I enjoy the occasional cheeky pint & seeing friends, visiting places and attending the odd music festival, sometimes as a punter, sometimes as a performer (DJ).I'm involved in triathlon, (google the acronym MAMIL) which provides many opportunities to get out into the fresh air. Don't worry, I'm not one who's into spending hours and hours on 180mile bike rides training for an ironman! I guess you could say that tri isn't my reason for living, rather it's the glue that holds things together. I am constantly told that I do not look my age, whatever that means. And you could say that I'm an outgoing, confident chap who has managed to survive most that life has thrown at him, but this journey would be so much more enjoyable with someone to share it with.
