I won't go into a whole "I like puppies and walking in the rain" synopsis here. There are plenty of sappy romance books in the library for that. What I will say is that I am a kid at heart and honest to a fault. I like the simple things in life and find that just hanging out with my friends is one of the best times to be had. But going out someplace is always an option. I would rather be casual but neat, but I can get dressed up if need be. I guess I'll say I'm flexible in that respect.I can't guarantee that you will laugh at all of my jokes, but that won't stop me from trying. Sarcasm, as long as it is not mean, is an art form.I'm not a health fanatic, and I cannot spend hours in a gym as I get bored easily with that, but do work out at home to keep in shape. I like to be active and stay in shape by either playing some sort of sport, hiking or doing different activities. If I can work up a sweat playing volleyball, tennis or racquetball and then do some weights at home the day is complete.I would rather play a sport than watch. I enjoy sitting down and watching a football game, but I am not tied to the tv. I think recording the game, going out and doing something interesting, and then coming back to watch it in an hours time as opposed to three hours is a better option.I want someone who wants to be a part of my life but also has one of her own. There is nothing wrong with having your own interests. You can share them with the other person, and learn from them, but it also allows you to have that all important alone time.I long for someone who can show affection and does not mind holding hands or a kiss in public. I am a passionate person in everything I do, whether it be a sport, a hobby or a relationship. I feel that there is no reason to do things halfway.I am interested in someone who is honest, fun and down to Earth. And please don't be so attached to your cell phone that it can't be put away for the night or a day out. Being in contact is one thing, but being out of touch is another.I like a woman who is confident, knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go for it, so I definitely don't mind someone who makes the first move.While my profile says that I don't drink, understand that I have nothing against it.     I've just been floating through life trying to do and be the best I can. Lately, I've decided that even though it's been a pretty great life so far, it might be better if I had somebody to share it with! I think I have lots to offer the right woman, and looking so much forward to doing so. A short list of adjectives that I would use to describe myself is generous, respectful, funny, smart, understanding and compassionate.....there's a few more but I'll let you find out for yourself. I'm a little shy at first, but bear with me, that dissipates quickly! I'm 42 and have never been married and have no kids. I've kinda been living the Bachelor lifestyle. Well, it gets old and lonely. I'm ready to open a new chapter in my life. I'm just hoping it's not too late. I need somebody to motivate me to travel, to learn things I don't know, and to try things I've never tried before. I like who I am and I'm pretty proud of what I've become.....but I just feel like there's more, and I want you to show me!There's some qualities that I think are important, but aren't necessarily a deal breaker. First, I think one needs to love themselves. How can anybody love you if you don't! To love yourself is to take care of yourself. I try to stay fit, eat semi-healthy and don't do anything that would jeopardize my future (ie. drugs and cigarettes). I'm having a good time on Earth and I want to prolong it! This next one is real important: must at least appreciate ALL animals. If you don't know how I mean that, move on. A few small examples: if you have a problem with my dog sleeping at the foot of the bed....it probably won't workout. If you don't SAFELY slow down to avoid a squirrel, it probably won't workout.....if you don't like animals I don't have much for ya. I like to ride motorcycles, go four-wheelin', and take in local shows when I can. Currently, I eat out all the time and it gets pretty old. I would love to split cooking duties with someone....but I'll have to learn how! I've got some friends that mean a lot and some that don't. Sitting around a fire-pit listening to some tunes with some good friends is a great night to me, but also going to a bar and watching some sports on TV and having a couple beers sounds mighty fine too!Nothing hidden and no lies. That's how I try to be and that's kinda what I expect. I'm not counting on a lot out of this site, but I thought I'd give it a try. I know she's out there, it's just proving to be a little difficult running around in the same circles I always run. If I'm not the one for ya, I wish you luck and I hope you find everything that you are looking for! I'm wide open on this. I know by reading some of your profiles, they just want the man to decide. Well, that's fine but I'd need a telephone conversation or two to get an idea of what would fit for both of us. This could range anywhere from a nice trail hike with OUR dogs, to a nice quiet night on the town....depending on where you're from and what you're feeling like!
