I am a SWM who has been single for a few years now by choice and I have no emotional baggage. I am honest, sincere, loyal, compassionate, and I don't play games. I am a romantic who believes there is still hope for the world we live in even though sometimes is seems like it's filled with evil and despair. I am 6'1" tall and I am in good shape. I have dark hair and eyes and I am as comfortable in jeans and a T-shirt as I am in a shirt and tie. I have been told many times I look closer to thirty than my actual age. I like to stay active and recently started to mountain bike again. I also enjoy motorcycling, hiking, camping and I would love to try kayaking if I can find someone to come with me.As far as interests, I'm very diverse. I'm all for a night out on the town or staying in with take out and a movie. I love trying new restaurants/food/craft beer/wine, traveling to new places, and can drop whatever I'm doing and take a drive to nowhere. I enjoy being outside and staying active in the warmer months. I love trips to the Vinyard to ride my bike around the island or camping or hiking in the mountains. If I could find someone that shares my love of bicycles that would be ideal! I do have to admit, I love a trip to the city to spend the day seeing all the sites and catching a game that night. But that being said, I have a big tv in the living room and I know how to use it! LolI have a great sense of humor and I can be goofy at times but I know when it's time to be mature. If you often use phrases like "hit me up" or if you use words such as "Playaz" we're probably not going to get along. I am not guarded and I tend to wear my emotions on my sleeve. There is no guessing with me. I am strong and secure and am comfortable in my own skin. I am currently in the process of writing my first novel and hoping to get published. I am not hung up on appearance but I do have to feel an attraction. You don't have to be perfect, just perfect for me. I don't have a "type". I do typically find woman with curves to be more attractive than really thin women. Age isn't generally an issue with me. You can be 25 or 45 as long as our personalities click. I am over the bar scene but I do love a night out on the town. Or I am just as happy staying in and ordering take out and snuggling on the sofa watching a movie. I believe that communication is the key to a great relationship. I believe that the lack of communication is the quickest way to end one. I once had a conversation that was so involved that it started to rain and we didn't even realize it until we were soaked to the bone. But it didn't matter. I am the type of man that drops you off at the front door when it's raining to keep you from getting wet. Meanwhile, I have to park the car 4 blocks away and I look like I took a shower with my clothes on. I don't claim to understand woman, but I do understand what makes us different and why we see many things a different way.     Plenty of Fish (POF***Thanks for taking a few minutes out of your day so we can learn a little more about you, first off what's with Love Spirals?Love Spirals (LS***Sure, no problem. Love Spirals is actually shortened from Love Spirals Downwards and that was a band I listened to a lot in the 90s. I just like how it sounds.POF – There haven’t been many who let us interview them on here, why did you agree to do so?LS- I figured I could share a lot about myself which would help someone determine if they wanted to get to know me better, send me a message or add me as a “favorite;. Of course I’d prefer a message. I know it’s hard to make that initial contact but it’s online stuff so it’s pretty safe.POF – What are some things important to you in a partner and relationship?LS – A few that come to mind would be someone who’s passionate about something in her life, someone who’s for the most part happy where they are in life or at least working towards getting to that place. I think having some things in common help a relationship which to me would be an appreciation for the outdoors, cooking/baking, road trips, lazy Sundays, coffee, music and enjoying movies and TV at times – even some bad TV. It’s important too that she is someone who understands and appreciates ones need for some downtime/alone time.POF – Are there any specific type of movies or music you find yourself drawn to?LS - I’ll be the first to admit I love a great romantic comedy movie. A few that come to mind are Serendipity, Say Anything and Never Been Kissed. I do like other movies as well as long as they are done well, even movies like Wedding Crashers and the Hang Over are great, I am a guy still. As for music, I don’ Some non- meetville – You mentioned liking the outdoors, can you expand on this?LS – Yes, that’s a good question because the outdoors are a be a big deal to a lot of NW'tners. I enjoy the hiking/camping/road trips around OR/WA, however I’ve not one of those ***outdoor people. I’ll tell you right now I love my shower, and a comfy place to sleep. I’m a fan of B&B’s but also a fan of a tent though it’s been awhile since I’ve slept in one. I do like to play tennis and golf and enjoy photography as well. I take the camera with me a lot during my site visits for work. meetville - What do you mean by Project Manager - Environmental Field? That can mean a lot of things.LS - Fair question, I oversee several fish & I get to travel to some beautiful and interesting places and I work closely with those states and Tribal fishery biologist on these projects. So just to be clear, I am not doing the actual on the ground work, this is performed by them. I do travel to these areas for site visits, to check on the projects and their work as well as attend various meetings with these folks.POF – Would you say you like a certain type of women?LS – I don’t think I’ve got a particular type, I am 45 now so I've got some serious dating years behind me. She'd be someone who's got a sweet and genuine heart, can show empathy and finds herself rooting for the underdog more times than not. A sense of humor and someone who can be a little sarcastic at times is a plus. Of course she doesn't need to meet all of these qualities, but a few would be nice to have. I will say a girl (and I know they are all women) who treats others and things well (humans, animals, nature) goes a long way in my book, as does an amazing kisser.POF - Any silly things you want to share about yourself?LS - I love silly facts so here are a few. My favorite number is 9 and my favorite color is green. My favorite month is October and carving pumpkins is a must no matter how old I get. I have chapstick in my desk at work, in my bathroom, in my living room and next to my bed. Recipe books are fun to read in bed and my closest friends are still the people I met in my teens though I’ve met some wonderful friends at work as well.POF – Anything else you’d like to share?LS – I will say I’m very much a question asker. I’m a curious guy and want to know things about a possible date/partner, etc. I do travel at times for work but not for long/extended time periods. I’ I've been divorced since ***and it seems like a lifetime ago. I have no children- sometimes I think I'm missing out but then there are other times I think "wow you're a great Uncle and that's probably all I can handle". Lastly, I do need downtime to recharge, I think I mentioned that earlier.
