About Me

At the beginning of ***I quit my job, sold most of my worldly possessions, put the rest in storage, and got on a plane for Tanzania, alone. My plans were loose. Several weeks in Swahili language school, and I would figure out the rest as I went. It was one hell of an adventure. We'll talk more about it when we meet.Now I'm starting a beverage company. This is not easy, nor is it for the faint of heart. But that's what I'm like - I move toward difficulty.I navigate life abiding by one main principle: Integrity.I recognize that at any moment I can lose pretty much everything I have. It's all temporary. Money, possessions, my health, my friends, and my life. I've seen people grateful and happy who live in extreme poverty and I've seen wealthy people who are miserable and sadistic. I've had my own highs and lows.I have learned that I can't control external circumstances. I can't even control my emotions in response to events, although having an emotion doesn't mean that I have to get swept up and react.But I can control my word. I mean what I say and I do what I commit to. If I mess up, I acknowledge it, and I apologize when it's the right thing to do.I listen, and I strive to be kind. It's important to me that you make every effort to listen and that you be kind too. Conversation over a good beer. Telling our stories and connecting. Putting it out there and being vulnerable, and creating, together. Leaning in to listen to what you're saying, when I'm interested. Eye contact, unbroken. Watching your movements while you watch mine. Laughter.
