I've been in a relationship for 18 years and finishing up a fairly civil divorce. That's the separated part, but it's over so don't let that scare you away. Had hearing, should be finalized within 45 days. I'm not looking for a "hook up", fwb or a "rebound". I'm just looking to meet someone, make some friends and let something develop on it's own in it's own time. There is no rush. I'm a very patient person (most of the time). I have two children (8&4) for whom I would give my life. I love them beyond words. I say yes sir and yes ma'am. I respect my elders and treat everyone with the respect they deserve, I hold the door open for you. I do the right thing because it's...right.During my life I've worked in music performance, theatre and film production, sound engineering, education(HS science), environmental consulting, engineering and photography.I can be a bit of a neat freak, i.e., i'm domestic (no, i don't wear gloves and carry around a bottle of bleach, only because i've been asked ;) and i can cook!I'm liberal and don't mind discussing politics but really dislike arguing about it. if you believe the gov't should rule over the reproductive rights of women and someone with a different sexual orientation shouldn't have the right to get married and share benefits like the rest of the world. stop voting...please. :)I love to travel. A goal of mine is to travel to every state and all the continents. I think I am up 38 states and 3 continents so far.I like to cuddle, on the couch, in bed, or in a hammock next to a pool overlooking the beach. i'm like a big teddy bear with a warm water bottle inside of it.I don't own a gun and I don't hunt but I do enjoy shooting pistols at the range once in a while. I enjoy fishing but don't get to go often.Music has always been a big part of my life. I play bass, a little guitar and sing some. I like 60s- Blues, Classical, Big Band, World Music, i.e;.. I like contemporary rock/pop/alternative 80s-90s-00s & jam bands. I also enjoy Christian rock music. I never got into rap or country, well...not very much.I have a very well developed sense of humor, sarcasm is a special treat, it's all in the timing ;)I've dealt with some very difficult situations in this life and I have the scars to prove it. Like they say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger and by all accounts I probably shouldn't be alive right now. So, I guess that makes me strong.I'm shy but come out of my shell when i get to know people. I'm told by many people that my appearance and personality are younger than my physical age.My father was an English professor...i am not the grammar police and in no way am I claiming innocence. I appreciate that not everyone can spell as well as others and not everyone has an extensive vocabulary. However, without going into specifics it slays me when certain words that sound the same but have different spellings and meanings are used in place of one another. I say this with the risk of coming off as aloof and that's not it. Everyone has a thing and this just happens to be one of those things.If you've taken the time to read this far, thank you.
