I like to have fun (who doesn't), but a good time is always better with the right company. I've recently returned to the LA area after being in the Army for three years, and I'm currently with the National Guard while I go back to school for a business degree. I used to work in the film industry, as a lighting designer, and I still moonlight in that business from time to time. My goal is to is to be able to work for myself, and run my own business. When I have free time, I like to make the best of it. For me, that means eating out (I love to eat), having drinks with friends, traveling, going to a baseball game, horseback riding, or going to the beach. I have an adventurous spirit, and like to try new things. Fitness is important to me, and I like to work out by going to the gym, running, hiking, or swimming. I enjoy cooking, and love to create new things in the kitchen, or on the grill. My bread pudding recipe is world famous, . . ha, well, famous among all of my friends any way :). Maybe sometime I could cook for you. I'm a genuine sort of guy, who's sincere, but likes to laugh; who's confident and mostly optimistic; and, who's playful, but gentlemanly. I think time is the most valuable commodity, because you can never get it back; but, I'm willing to spend it on someone who I feel comfortable with, and who's pleasing to the soul. I'm hoping to meet someone who is good company, is attractive, and likes to have a good time staying in, going out, or experiencing life.

    Despite some traveling, I generally am content right where I am, though I frequently feel the impatient nudge to move on to the next thing, despite the fact there is no "next thing." On the topic of potential partners, let's box this venture into a journey of friendship, romance, or maybe even the bright green area where things are just easy, natural and a conversation is picked up like it never ended.I prefer direct conversations wherever feasible: conversations that can run deep but alternate with light-hearted chit-chat, emotional awareness and all that comes with being present.And while I cook early and often, and have even been known to cook up a meal for a special guest, these are prolonged sessions tipped with anxiety, edginess, and just plain mal-focus over mundane things like the proper set on salmon, over-caramelizing roasted tomatoes, or the lack of a good leopard char on a 5-day fermented dough. I like knowing the story of the food from start to finish. To that end, gathering mushrooms, preserving lemons, making my own toothpaste, laundry soap and canning/freezing all kinds of goodies is one way to know what's going into my body. And I especially like it when there's enough to barter around - your peaches for my salmon - ha! Despite all this, I'm a perfectly imperfect human being that comes packaged with all the quirks that online profiles cannot and, arguably, should not capture. And dishes should be washed by hand.
