This is the part where the wonderful description of ourselves goes hmmm? It is a somewhat daunting task to describe oneself. So here it goes, some random things about me: At my best I am spirited, curious, and diverse, at my worst stubborn and I talk too much. I try to be a better me everyday, physically, and mentally. I am very straightforward and take things as they come to me. If you ask me my opinion, I will tell you, tactfully of course, and it will be exactly that, my opinion. Feel free to disagree. I am a self described glass is half full girl. Honesty is of great importance to me. So is laughter. I don't gossip, it's unkind. I keep confidences because it is important to be trustworthy. The best compliment I ever received was that I am compassionate. The best advice ever given to me was "we regret in life more the things we don't do than the things we do". I am a people person. I love kids and old people (I know that sounds hokey, but I do!) They usually have an interesting take on things. I am inspired by nature and the outdoors. I am learning to fish because my children love fishing. Last year I learned to shoot and loved it! I am also rather bookish, reading and writing are my escape. I love movies, music, and theater. I speak fluent German. I like early mornings as much as late nights. My favorite movie is "It's a wonderful life". My current favorite song is "Sometimes I get a feeling" by Flo Rida. I will dance, although it is usually in my kitchen while cleaning. I am not a huge sports buff but will hang around for the occaisional sporting event, I am artistic and inventive and love gardening and have been know to bouts of baking a bit compulsively. Yea, there's more but if you got this far and you're still reading and curious you'll have to ask, otherwise it'd be just as well to simply publish my autobiography in this here small box for your reading pleasure and just skip the whole dating thing. :)Addendum: I am flattered by the many responses I have gotten in my first 2 days here. I don't know if it because I am brand new and it will begin to drop off after a bit, however I do try to respond to most even if I am not interested. Please don't be offended, I have spent time thinking and have a pretty good idea of what I want in someone I will choose to spend time with. Days may be long, but life is short and I see no point in wasting anyone's time. I have a few criteria that are general reasons I will not date someone- If you are closer to my kids age than mine, thank you for stopping by, as a general rule I prefer to date a bit older, next you don't have to be a rocket scientist but you have to know something about something, be able to write an intelligable note (perfection is not necessary) and hold a conversation, one that goes back and forth, don't expect me to do all the work, I am a woman that wants to be wooed, (yes, I am so worth it), I have many interests, hopefully so do you so we will have plenty to talk about and you should like to do something I do or vice versa, SO, if you have nothing to say please go to the library (is that harsh? I hope not it's just that is the appropriate place to be quiet, not on a date ) Next I want to be able to see your face, your stuff is nice, so is your dog and your home is beautiful, I know those pictures are meant to say things about you, but the picture of you should show your face clearly and should be recent, and oh yes you look great in your sunglasses but I want to see your eyes. As a sidenote, smile! You are here to find a date not get a part in the next serious guy movie. PS. Sports are ok, like I said I will watch on occasion, but if you're into sports and only sports I am not you gal either. Sports is what I see as a great excuse for you to have your time and me to have mine but I prefer not to spend a date that way. Lastly I am a 42 year old woman, with a real 42 year old woman's body. I have had 2 children so let's be real. I have curves, some in the right places and some not so much. I will not ask you if I look fat in this outfit, I am generally pretty comfortable in my own skin, but if physical perfection is important to you then you need to hop off the bus gus. Oh yea, and anything too forward or freaky fetish stuff should be saved. Sex is important in relationships, note: in relationships, not in a weird first hi I'm so-n-so note. Thank you for you patience, please carry on4 month Update: I no longer try to respond to most, it's too much to do, I am a busy girl. It gets exhausting to keep explaining things over and over. Convincing someone, no, really you're not my type. Sorry. Not trying to be mean...so If I don't respond you haven't caught my intrest or you don't meet the criteria. It is hard to reject someone, no one wants to do that. So yea, sometimes it is easier to say nothing. Some of you write the nicest things too, which makes it even harder. But that is just how it is, sometimes we just don't feel it. So if I don't respond, thank you for your note, I am always flattered. This is not an easy way to meet someone, feels unnatural and backwards. Also if you ask for my number and I give it to you, call me, don't text me. If the phone conversation goes ok then maybe we can text. Finally, I do this all on my phone so I cannot do the online chat thing, so don't be offended when I don't respond. ;) This first date box is kinda silly, because we all just want to look at a person face to face, see if they are still attractive (do they really look like the picture that attracted you) find out if there is mutual chemistry and does this individual have anything of interest to contribute or is sitting with them a tortuous strained affair. It's anyone's guess folks, this is afterall internet dating...so whatever it takes to relax and be yourself

Woman. 41 years old. Zodiac sign: Gemini.
Looking for: man. In age: 38-48
I grew up in small towns, and am attracted to having some *wiggle*-room, but i also appreciate being close to the city, but far enough away so i can go back to my little sanctuary...I like..; nights, a yummy cuppa joe, cooking breakfast together, mornings, yoga & pilates, nutrition, giving and receiving massages, touch, new experiences and learning something fun and exciting like a class working on a degree or personal enrichment. I would love to... I want to go everywhere, but those just came to me. Learn to play the guitar (I have one, just need now to take some lessons). Metal smithing would be cool too. Fly fish more. Learn to kayak. Be mortgage free and self-sufficient.. the dream! I do...Watch my mouth.. there's nothing trashier than to hear a woman swear like a sailor (such a turn off for us, too). I don't have addictions to alcohol, don't spend my time in the bars, and don't take drugs of any kind. So if you drink a lot or take drugs or have any other strange addictions, then we're probably not a good match. I thrive on being sober, love the feeling. And it's not because I'm better than anyone else, but I do have certain expectations of myself and it's what I have chosen not to have in my life. And, I'm looking for the same in my friends and love. Update: Yes, I do drink socially, but you won't find me hanging around the bars. I've been getting into wine-making so maybe we can share a glass or three =) And if you don't drink, that's fine too. I wont pressure you...much ;) I am...Pretty well balanced, and grounded. Logical. But, dreamy at times. I prefer calmness and harmony in my life, try to avoid conflicts and try to look at things from an outward perspective. Everyone has their own story and I value that. It is how we've overcome our failures and past that has made us. I believe you are what you think. I choose happiness =) I try to keep my distance from those who are quick to anger or who are just generally unhappy with their life and situation. Another issue that seems to need attention is the anxiety and baggage out there. If you have your therapist on speed dial, it's likely we won't be a match. I'm not a hater, but only happy, positive people please.Not...Defined by politics. I know some people take them very personally, but honestly they're not for me. Religion and Politics are two things I don't delve deeply into. I'm not religious, and I'm not politcal, meaning they don't define me. I am spiritual... nature is my church, the earth is my temple. I'm content with my views and will share them with you if you're curious :)I don't follow the latest fashion designs, labels, pretty low-key and low maintenance. I'm no drama mama, just fun and good times. Life is too short to be grumpy and jealous.Movies and Music...Anything with a message. Action adventure, comedies are good, not a fan of TV. I have one, but don't have cable-- Just a colossal waste of time in my opinion. But, love going to the movies on date night. My music tastes are off the charts.. it varies. If it's good music, I'll listen to it. If it evokes feeling or emotion, usually listen to that too. Although I listen to some rock, I've been listening to Celtic, Spa & Meditation, trail songs, anything different than the mainstream norm. Also, I see a lot of very general, "i like to hike, bike, climb, ski and i love sports" That's great, I like adventure and activity, too, but what is it that sets you apart from the other person? Do you have a talent or special interest or experience to share? I'll share mine with you. I won't even make you ask :) For 10 years, I operated a retail nursery greenhouse on the western slope, and I like to think I have a pretty green thumb, a business mind and a strong connection with horticulture and the land. I would actually get back into it with the ideal partner, but never alone again. I like the idea of homesteading. Holistic arts and healing impress me more than western medicine. If you also take care of yourself, and have a healthy mind and body, and you think we might have something in common, I would love to hear from you =) Somewhere we can get to know each other, like a festival or hike... then ice cream or something cool and yummy afterward. Or let's try a craft beer at a local microbrewery. Please no coffee dates ---what a lackluster way to meet someone. I am ultimately seeking a long-term, monogamous relationship, not necessarily marriage, but just you and I, to share experiences together, travel, new culinary delights and all things fun in life. So, if you like what you see, and you have passion for life, and desire to know more about other cultures, travel and adventures, chat me up and say hello! At the very least, we'd have a travel partner ;)Good Luck to you =)reclaim your ***

Woman. 42 years old. Zodiac sign: Pisces.
Looking for: man. In age: 39-49
Lots of things have changed here and I would love to rediscover the area with someone special. I am a kind-hearted, honest and open person who loves to cuddle and display affection in public (i.e. hand-holding, or hugs but nothing like making out at a mall like a couple of teens). I am an honest person and expect the same of others *not always a good expectation I discovered. I was recently reminded that I am easy to talk to, objective, keep personal business to myself and give people a sense that they are safe around me. I sound like a therapist or something when I think of myself in these terms, but I love knowing other people trust in me and I honor that. I am a teacher so I suppose these traits are perfect for my chosen career. I hope to find a gentleman who complements my personality.I enjoy going out with friends for lunch or drinks; of course being a single parent makes it more difficult to have a lot of free time for myself, but I am learning how to make that happen a bit easier, just not spur of the moment. I enjoy going to the beach, theme and amusement parks, mini-golf (I would golf, but I stink at it). I have started to get interested in running but am still working on becoming an actual runner. I am a Nats and Caps fan. I must say I still like the Indians since I grew up with them. I much prefer being at the stadium to watching sports on tv unless it is with a group of people, food, and adult beverages. 80's music and movies, and 90's tv dramas are still my favorites but I do like current entertainment as well. I love the Avengers movie and don't mind when it is played and replayed in my house. Iron Man 3 was great too. I have had my share of drama so I like the light-hearted-all-ends-well type of movies. I would love to learn to dance with a partner (country and traditional) and be one of the couples on the dance floor that seems to know how to do more than just step and turn around in a circle. If you don't mind walking in the woods in autumn, or strolling along the shore in the summer, I would be interested in talking to you. I would love to have a relationship where we could become partners with equal value and opinions that may differ, but are respected. Compromise, compassion, empathy and trust are important to me. I love Christmas time (in addition to the religion portion) largely due to the magic of the season with the lights, traditions, snow falling (hopefully), all the silly children's specials that the kids don't care about but bring back memories for me..., the fellowship of friends and family. My least favorite holiday is Halloween...for reasons which would be shared at a later time. (Party of three means that it is me and my two children ages and 12 in life. It is not an invitation for a married man looking to add a third or for someone to join in. That kind of thing is not for me so please don't ask.)
