Right.....new improved profile!Where do I begin? Well it all began with the Normans??? Ha! (private joke)I'm quite a passionate person I think. And emotional. Have a wicked sense of humour too. It's been a crazy journey to get here but I suppose on reflection it's not been boring and I've learned much about life and myself.So what or whom am I? Well I like the outdoors. Do a lot of hillwalking, cycling, fishing, camping, walking and volunteering etc. I have an interesting gaggle of friends who are almost like family and each is unique in their own way and all bonkers. These days I try not to follow trends. I do things my own way, sometimes to my advantage, sometimes to my detrement but it's who I am. I wear my heart on my sleave which isn't always advantageous but at least it shows I have passion.In all my years I've only had 3 serious relationships, the first and third ended in betrayal and the second just didn't work out but did give me the chance to be a step father for 4 years which I really enjoyed. So here I am again......looking.I write my own poetry which is kinda "Spike Milliganesque" and I'm a huge fan of Monty Python's Flying Circus. My music taste is maily "rock" and I love live gigs. I've been back in the UK for about a year now after having spent a few years on a beautiful Japanese island running my own website business, which is a lot easier said than done!- the same one which I worked for before moving to Japan.I'm not sure whether vanity or fitness is my true motivator, but I try to get to the gym most days. I also do a fair bit of sports - I play a terrible round of golf, a reasonable game of tennis, and can still skateboard far better than most people half my age. I also enjoy hiking and I've recently started running. I really miss being near the ocean as I owned a kayak when I lived in Japan and used to love paddling out to the edge of reefs and snorkeling with tropical fish and mantas etc.I love photography, and I find the whole process from composing a photo through to processing it very relaxing.I try to keep my Japanese language alive, even if this only means studying a few characters ever day, and listening to the news in Japanese, but the reality is that I get very few opportunities to speak it nowadays. I watch a fair few films (even the odd 'chick flick') and I enjoy popular science books, even if they constantly remind me that there are many people far smarter than myself on this amazing planet - perhaps you're one of them.Music - mainly hip-hop (90's stuff, and some gangsta rap), although I've been mellowing a bit in my old age!Personality wise I'm very open and a little outspoken, but funny at the same time. Don't worry - despite my interests I'm not in the slightest bit geeky.So, who would I like to meet - somebody who is interesting, funny, thoughtful, attractive, and not afraid to do some mild exercise every now and again. I'd prefer somebody who doesn't smoke and who isn't overw***I know that sounds rather shallow, but I think I'd find it hard to respect somebody who doesn't respect their own body. Let's cross this bridge if we come to it!
