Hello -I believe I am an outgoing, energetic & fun person. I am involved in many things -- I work for a nonprofit but I also do a lot of consulting on the side. I'm creative and I'm political and somehow I've made those 2 worlds collide - in a good way. I'm on a few boards and I have a lot of good friends that I like to stay connected to, so I keep very busy. But, I've also learned the importance of staying fit, so I play golf and sail regularly in the summer, and in the winter I try to go skiing as much as I can (both downhill and cross country). I have 2 dogs, so I try to make the dog park a daily habit as well. My passion is cooking and love to try new recipes. Throwing a party for 40 people is one of those things I thrive on. I don't like cooking for just myself, but I AM getting better at it. Don't worry, I'm not always on the go, I also love my alone time to read, regroup and get organized. I do have a nurturing, nesting side to me too. Actually, I would love to start writing - I have many tales to tell... Now about you... (Huge added bonus if you'd like to cook for me too.) I don't have children of my own (other than my pets), but always thought I would some day, I just never found the right person to make that kind of commitment with. So I'd be completely supportive (in whatever way YOU would define that) if you have kids. I'm not into hunting or fishing, so holding up dead carcasses in your pictures really doesn't do it for me. I get it & I'm not a vegetarian (I love bacon & italian sausage too much to give it up), but if that's your thing, it'll just stay your thing!Thanks if you've read this far. October 25, ***:The neighbors across the road are a different sort.; not altogether warm and personable. They have a habit of shooting fireworks on a grand scale at odd intervals. The neighbors to the right of me are elderly. The fireworks give them a fright each time, thinking it may be gunshots and the like so they call me for reassurance. Oh the charm of country life. Well perhaps one of his elves. I brought it home, not expecting much from it but it has been put to the test for over six hours now. I am amazed at the difference it made on this windy day. It's been simply lovely and toasty all evening AND the thermostat for the heat pump has been turned down. Success! *** lived in small towns and large cities, both in the States and abroad. I've lived in mobile homes, in apartments, in condos, and in old houses. It all doesn't matter so much now, for life will take you down many roads good and bad.I enjoy what I have and am proud of where I've been and what I have accomplished. I can't complain for there's really no reason to, and I usually don't. My life is stable, healthy and whole. I do what I can to stay out of debt and out of the path of drama. It would be nice to have a friend to enjoy life with. To be honest, I feel like a housewife waiting for her husband to return home. So if that friendship turned into marriage, well then, there will be much to celebrate.Random facts or possible fiction about me:I like Kerrygold Skellig sweet cheddar cheese.I spend Thanksgiving at Biltmore Estate.The perfect alarm clock is the sound of waves pounding the sand at the beach.My most memorable Christmas was in Switzerland.Books hold my attention more so than movies.Some days are better spent in pajamas.There's something about a cabin with a fireplace overlooking the mountains. Pick up trucks that are so high that I wouldn't bump my head if I were to walk under them annoy me.Cars that go round and round the track are about as impressive to me as those little rodents on running wheels.In one week's time on meetville, I realized my mistake in "looking for casual dating/no commitment". My intents have been changed to "I want a relationship". I am not online to queue up for sex. I am not online for cybersex. I am not a prostitute for hire or for free. Casual atmosphere where it's easy to be yourself and get to know someone.
