About Me

Easy-going, grounded, good sense of humor, and on the intellectual side are fair self-descriptors. I love my work but it is not my life. I'm a realist; and still manage to be positive... I might choose a nice log cabin in the mountains by a lake over a crowded beach unless the crowded beach is the entry point for scuba diving. This is not to say I haven't jet down to cabo for some R&R. I just head for the less crowded areas of beach. I have come to deeply appreciate simple pleasures like taking my dog to the dog park, growing my own vegetables and watching shadows on the landscape as the sun sets. I want to remain as healthy as possible, so I eat fairly healthy and workout. I tend to read quite a bit and like staying current on world events. I love family despite their dysfunction... lol... and believe in the golden rule. I communicate honesty my likes and needs, won't judge nor try to change what anyone else likes and needs. I value depth in relationships and love learning about other people's life journey to-date. Learning about wine and food pairing has been a fun hobby, and by no means am I an expert, but I try.. I hike in the Sierras with my dog and love anything outdoors, including a backyard picnic. Other likes include live music, comedy theatre, travel, entertaining, cooking, scuba, swimming, exploring. I hope to meet a college-educated, unpretentious, healthy man. I have stepchildren who are now grown. I loved helping to raise children, and look forward to learning about yours if you have children, and if you do not that is fine too.     I am not very good at describing myself but here goes.I am a 47 yr old country girl living her dream. I have a farm that I take care of by myself. I do everything; split firewood, work in the garden, cut 13 acres, take care of the dogs, cats, horses...everything. And still work a 50 hr workweek in sales. I have had to learn to be a very independent person and take care of myself. I seem to do a pretty good job of it so far. I wish I had more time to pamper myself but that just isn't the case. If your looking for a high maintenance kinda gal, I'm not the girl for you. I don't get my nails done and I can't remember the last time I had a spa day. But, I do clean up real nice and love to go out. I love surprises and romance. I am a very passionate person; and I love to show those that are close to me how much I care about them.I love to work out on the farm; I don't need a gym membership to stay fit. I would love to say that I am athletic and toned but I am more fit and healthy. You see as much as I like to exercise and stay healthy...I LOVE ALL GOOD FOOD! Going out to a great restaurant and trying new foods is on the top of my list of to do's! I love to cook and have someone cook for me. A quiet evening in is just as much fun as going out in my book. I love to go for walks on the beach or at a park. I love going to the movies and to go antiquing. I can have fun doing just about anything. Well, I can't say I love getting my car serviced or my teeth cleaned. BUT you get what I mean. :)I am an artist with glass; I make lampwork jewelry and stained glass. I learned both of these in order to help my rescues. Yes, this country girl is crazy over animals. I love all kinds of music except Bluegrass and Hard Rock. I recently purchased an Ipad and now am afraid I have joined the ranks of the App Junkies! Never knew you could get addicted to something like that. :)I am looking to find my guy! Every serious relationship must start with friendship first. No games, no drama please!!! I don't play and won't be a part of them. SO if that is who you are...look elsewhere. I will not tolerate a temper or games. I don't have time for either. NO one should be mean to another. I am looking for a fun loving guy that enjoys similar things as I do but has his own life to bring to the table. A great sense of humor is a plus in my book. An animal lover is a major plus too! I Oh I have no idea what a good first date would be. I don't think it should be too dramatic. I think a great first date would be over a cup of coffee or an icecream cone. I think the perfect first date would be a personal thing. Depending on the other person...it takes two to make the perfect date. :)
