This is the hard part. I am not good about talking about myself, but I guess that is something that should be worked on. I enjoy most all outdoor activities....even fishing if someone will bait my hook and take off my catch...lol. I just tried paddle boarding and really enjoyed it.I am blessed with 2 sons ***that is older and my youngest that lives with me part time. He is a huge part of my life and I enjoy watching him play baseball. I am an open, honest, caring person....sometimes to a fault. I don't really care for the club scene anymore, but willing to do anything with someone I care about. Hmmmm......this is where we see if there is a chemistry...a connection...a comfortableness with each other. Maybe going to a festival or art fair or something like that where we can talk and also have other things to interact with to allow conversation to flow and not feel pressured. I am open to suggestions though because many first dates are what the other person feels comfortable with also...over a drink...coffee...lunch....in otherwords, don't feel like what I said is is what you should shoot for on the first date.

This Plenty of Fish is really a crap shoot, isn't it? Well... here goes!A little about myself: I am a very physically active and intellectually curious person. I love the outdoors and anything related to the ocean. I exercise every day. I enjoy walking, jogging, aerobics, biking, hiking, camping, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, and canoeing. I live close to the ocean and never get sick of the beach.I'm not much into shopping, unless it's vintage clothing stores and thrift shops. I love retro fashion, and have been told I resemble Bettie Page. I am into tiki culture and exotica music. In fact, I have quite a vinyl lp collection, which I will never get rid of. Call me "old school" if you will; I prefer the terms "classic" or "retro"I am a teacher. I love my work. That's very important to me. But after 12 years I'm ready to shift into a new direction so I am studying to be a holistic health coach. I am a vegan and I believe that good health and vitality begins with food. My health and my quality of life is very important to me, so I take very good care of myself. I eat very thoughtfully and I exercise every day.I love animals and feel that we share a common bond with them. I have one dog and three cats. If animals are not your thing, you probably wouldn't feel comfortable at my place.I believe that individual people can affect great change. I enjoy gardening, landscaping, and habitat restoration.I love camping more than staying in a resort hotel. But don't let my outdoors enthusiasm fool you. Who says you can't have the best of both worlds? My ideal man would be someone who is educated (I'll let you define what that means), and stable. I don't care about your income, just as long as you have a job. I'd prefer a man who loves the work he does. When we have a passion for our work, everything else seems to be at peace. He should be physically fit. Yes, it matters to me as much as I'm sure it matters to you guys. I'd like someone who enjoys working out, not seeing exercise as a chore. I would love to meet someone who likes jogging, biking, swimming, snorkeling, diving, and other water sports. If you go to the gym, even better. But what good the brawn if no brain? My match would enjoy stimulating conversation. He would be turned off by a female who doesn't have anything substantial to talk about. If he's looking for a botoxed, high maintenance, airhead type, I'm not his gal. I chose to tell the truth about my age. I am proud of being 50, mostly because I have kept myself in really good shape and I like how people react when I tell them my age. Truth be told, I look and feel better now than I did 15 years ago. Also, I'm not interested in a man who only wants to date much younger women. Can't we judge people by other means than their age? How 'bout mileage? Um, ok, maybe not!I think chemistry is important. I know it immediately. If it's not there, it's not there and we should move on, no hard feelings. But if there is chemistry... let's see where that takes us! A first date would, of course, be coffee (or other beverage of choice). We'll see if there are any sparks. I highly believe in sparks. If there is chemistry, then the time and place of a second date won't really matter. All that really matters is a place where we could talk and get to know each other a little better. I am a vegan so going out to Red Lobster or Outback Steak House is out of the question. I watch what I eat and maintain my figure, so Cheesecake Factory is also out of the question. However, I know of some fantastic vegan restaurants where we could enjoy the pleasure of really delicious, healthy food and enjoy stimulating conversation. Candlelight is optional, but a bottle of wine would be a nice touch!

I’m pretty content with my life. I know what poverty is like and also what comfort is. I am blessed to be where I am and realize that every day. I appreciate all that life has to offer, everything from a wildflower to an orchestra. I have listed a few interests in the column, but that could only scratch the surface of my life. I have fun anywhere I go; life should be enjoyed not just observed. I also understand that there is no way anyone could share the depth of their personality in their profile.I’m not looking for perfection, for there is no such thing. I appreciate respect, conversation and truth. If chemistry is in the mix, the rest will come. Talk first, then go from there.
