I love geek culture so getting to know each other on that level and having little inside jokes about stuff is fun! As I said up above, be honest, genuine, be yourself! Coffee places are the best. You can usually find a secluded place to get comfortable, sip on a yummy drink and talk. I like to drink wine, but bars are not a good place to meet up, too noisy. If the weather is nice, the lake is nice too.
