About Me

I live life with a passion, and I'm drawn to others who do as well. I'm an eternal optimist, and I marvel at all of the amazing things in this world. I have a lengthy bucket list, and I cross things off of it and add more to it all the time. I love it when I can find friends who will join me in nutty endeavors and soul-stretching passionate explorations of life. I smile all the time. I can't help but see the good in people. I see exciting potential at every fork in the road. I'm quite happy with my life the way it is, and I'm not looking for someone to fix it, or take care of me. I can do that myself. I do want someone to share my joy with, though. I'm likely going to be cautious about committing to marriage or permanence in a relationship, because it affects my children too, but I'd like to know that some sort of long-term goal is a possibility at least. I'm not saying we can't be friends along the way while we figure it out, but if you have no desire for a real relationship, we're probably not on the same page. I'm a balanced mix between responsible and fun. I have a busy job I love, and kids, friends, and family who need me. They all take time and commitment, so practically speaking, dating has to be flexible enough to fit in when I can. This is especially true in the beginning until I see if there's something worth pursuing beyond a few dates. If a true friendship/relationship were to develop, time would become more free, because family life could be integrated into that sort of situation. Until that time, though, you'd have to be patient with working around the times I have available. I want someone I can actually spend time with, without needing to plan a road trip. I live an active life and love hiking, biking, and spending time at the gym. I have had, and will continue to have, some big fitness goals for myself, and I always like to be working toward something that motivates me to make myself better. Right now it's losing some extra weight I gained when I had a stressful job last year, so that I can participate in a triathlon next spring. Although I live an active life, eat (mostly) healthy, and do take care of myself, I do NOT have the body of an athlete. Rather I coerce my body to do great things through sheer force of will and determination. I have curves and squishy spots, and while I sometimes manage to have less of those than other times, they never go away. If you're looking for someone who'll love doing active things with you, I can be your girl. But if you only have an attraction to skinny women, we probably shouldn't waste each other's time.
