I've been on and off this site since ***now. Way too long! :) Now, the joy of writing a new profile. The basics are simple. I am a single mother of a teenager. That should be enough to scare most of you off ;) I was married for over 13 years and have been divorced for 5. I am looking for a patient, kind man, Someone who can carry on an intelligent conversation. It seems so simple in theory, but somehow is not easy to find. Did I mention Patience? ;-) I love adventure. I love the exotic. When I was 19, I traveled to the Amazon to live with the Indians. When I know what I want, I make it happen. On the flip side, I am a very deep, sensitive person. I have delt with pain deeper than most know, but take advantage of what it has taught me and strive to give back all I can. I have a college degree, but am kind of in a retirement phase right now. I spend my days reading and walking on the beach. I have one daughter who is finishing up her schooling with her grandparents across the state. I miss her much but see her often. I am just grateful for the opportunities she has been given. I love to volunteer all I can. But I do miss learning on a higher level and plan on returning to school sometime within the next year to get my Psych degree. I am a bit shy, but opinionated as well. I am "What you see is what you get". I would love to travel in the future-- My Christian Faith is very important to me and I have learned that it is essential that I be able to share that part of my life with my partner. Also, and this is very important--I DO NOT DATE SMOKERS. IF YOU ARE IN THE PROCESS OF QUITTING, YOU ARE STILL A SMOKER. I AM ALLERGIC TO SMOKE, IT IS NOTHING PERSONAL. Obviously this has been a problem in the past... I have probably left you with more questions than answers, but I am an open book, so question away! P.S. I am always asked why I don't drink. It is not a religious thing. I don't like the taste or how it makes me feel. That is all. And P.S.S What is the deal with so many of you holding up dead fish in your pics????? :) I love simple things. A fabulous thought out date that costs no money is ideal:) I love miniture golf too. And, I always love being treated like a lady.

... They have not spoken to each other in years. Their quarrel began over a woman they both love. Both were equally strong as well as equally handsome. Once and for all, they were determined to finish this dispute over who is the better man. The first brother’s argument was, “I know how old she is, I know how much she weighs, how tall she is, her hair color and eye color.” In which the second brother replies, “Oh, yeah, well I know her favorite restaurant, her favorite poetry line, her favorite work of art, her favorite book to read and what movie brings her to tears even though she has watched it 15 times.”… The first brother, determined to be right, countered with, “I know how educated she is, what her IQ score is and where she was born”. .. The second chimes back, somewhat raddled by now, “I know that she bites her nails when she is nervous, I know that she is truly balanced between strong but sensitive. I know she wrinkles her nose when she concentrates hard on something and that she falls asleep listening to music every night”. Fuming at this point, and determined, once again, to get the upper hand on the other brother, the first one replies, “yeah but with me, she gets very little sleep; for I know her needs and how to please her over and over and over again”. Second counters, “I know how perfectly my hand fits into the small of her back, I know her smell, I know the sweet taste of her lips”… By this time the whole bar has stopped to listen. Who will be the favorable brother? “I may not have all the money in the world,” said the second one, “But I will always be able to provide for her” as to which the first one says, “Oh yeah, well, I do have all the money in the world and she will never have to worry about being provided for as well as have all the things her heart desires”. …“well, let’s let her decide” while pointing to a woman standing alone at the other end of the bar.; she had been listening.“I have loved both of you, but one and only one decision has to be made…. and the brother whom I love the most is………”Which brother did the woman decide and why? Now, about me.....I'm an avid reader, lover of animals and think children are the most precious things in the world. The beach is my sanctuary and amusement parks are where I entertain my "inner child". Music is absolutely etched within my soul; If there is music, I'm there. I love classic cars, funny movies, stand-up comedy but, sorry guys, I'm not much of a sports fan (except live baseball, LOVE live baseball).I love to spend time with my partner but still know how to be comfortable alone. I have a big heart but I am not naive' enough to be a push over. I'm confident and speak my mind but I can do so with grace. I am just as comfortable in an old pair of jeans and flip flops as I am in an evening gown; I can fit into any environment....If I were to describe my "perfect" guy in 3 words, it would be.... intelligent, balanced, romantic....Best of luck, everyone! I am a person who likes to be active. Tubing trips, camping, canoeing, concerts, road trips, and several other things. I am pretty diverse. I can go from a biker festival on a Friday night in a T shirt and jeans to a charity fundraiser in a dress and heels on Saturday to floating down the river on Sunday afternoon. And dont forget cheerleader mom in the bleachers at one of my kids' ball games. After all of the crazy fun in a day I like to unwind in the quiet with a good book, or even a movie once in a while.My best defense in stress is going for a long run or hitting the gym. I am happiest when making other people happy. I have become the go to person and that is great, but would like to know if there is someone out there who I can go to. Not when needed, because I realize I dont need anyone, but I know now that I want that someone special there. I always have fun with whatever I am doing. I can find the good in every day. I believe that life is too short not to have fun going through it. I live every day as if I am not sure how many more Ill have left.I have been divorced for 5 years and I am very happy with my life as it is now. Because I am happy with my life I know I am ready for someone who is just as happy with theirs.I have been described by others as genuine, unique, and simply not able to compare me to anyone. Ive taken these statements as good things. ;) People say those things about me because I am honest to a fault, but at the same time live by the phrase "If you cant say something nice then dont say anything at all". I wont lie, but dont like to hurt people's feelings either. I am always there when needed and support my friends and family with everything I have. I love my family and believe that friends are the family that you choose. I can only hope that I can meet someone with similar views on life who is also willing to include me in the things he is interested in and want to join in on the fun roller coaster of life that I live.Bad things happen to good people all the time. I know that , for me, there is always something to learn and take from those bad things. If we didnt have bad days then we wouldnt know how to appreciate the good ones.
