Alas, I speak German.At 3 years old, my parents were arguing about being 'anti-something' and I sauntered into the room and asked, "mommy, what does anti mean?" She responds, "It's when you are against something?"..I promptly backed up to the wall and ask, "Antiagainst the wall?!"- they couldn't stop laughing.;Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring."I value my independence and "me" time, so if we are in a relationship and I ask you for space, it's not cause I don't like being with you - its because I am just asking for a time buffer, which is healthy in any relationship. I also don't like being smothered, asked what I am doing every ***hr, where I am, etc. Unless we are engaged or married...this is not a good habit to adopt. Also, if you abuse animals, keep them outside chained up, or abuse them physically -don't even consider messaging me-people who abuse animals will abuse people too. Disgusting and cruel.If you can't hold an intelligent conversation with me about politics, weather, music, the arts, geography, current events - the date will most likely fall flat. It works in larger venues really well. I also make a mean batch of fajitas and sehr gut pepper steak!I'm a House (the show) junkie, I watch the show to review my medical terminology (I'm not kidding). An individual who loves and cares for his mom and respects and admires his father. A guy who loves his sibs and enjoys hanging out with extended family. I come from a very large family - I'm very used to it.I'm a quick study, analytical, smart and quick with words. I speak German (minored in it).     I've been on and off this site since ***now. Way too long! :) Now, the joy of writing a new profile. The basics are simple. I am a single mother of a teenager. That should be enough to scare most of you off ;) I was married for over 13 years and have been divorced for 5. I am looking for a patient, kind man, Someone who can carry on an intelligent conversation. It seems so simple in theory, but somehow is not easy to find. Did I mention Patience? ;-) I love adventure. I love the exotic. When I was 19, I traveled to the Amazon to live with the Indians. When I know what I want, I make it happen. On the flip side, I am a very deep, sensitive person. I have delt with pain deeper than most know, but take advantage of what it has taught me and strive to give back all I can. I have a college degree, but am kind of in a retirement phase right now. I spend my days reading and walking on the beach. I have one daughter who is finishing up her schooling with her grandparents across the state. I miss her much but see her often. I am just grateful for the opportunities she has been given. I love to volunteer all I can. But I do miss learning on a higher level and plan on returning to school sometime within the next year to get my Psych degree. I am a bit shy, but opinionated as well. I am "What you see is what you get". I would love to travel in the future-- My Christian Faith is very important to me and I have learned that it is essential that I be able to share that part of my life with my partner. Also, and this is very important--I DO NOT DATE SMOKERS. IF YOU ARE IN THE PROCESS OF QUITTING, YOU ARE STILL A SMOKER. I AM ALLERGIC TO SMOKE, IT IS NOTHING PERSONAL. Obviously this has been a problem in the past... I have probably left you with more questions than answers, but I am an open book, so question away! P.S. I am always asked why I don't drink. It is not a religious thing. I don't like the taste or how it makes me feel. That is all. And P.S.S What is the deal with so many of you holding up dead fish in your pics????? :) I love simple things. A fabulous thought out date that costs no money is ideal:) I love miniture golf too. And, I always love being treated like a lady.
