Been a while since I've been in the dating game so... Here I am. Just to tell you, I can be brutally honest but it comes from years of having to be because of my personal history. I am looking for someone who has loads of patience, acceptance and is also honest. Reasons, well it might take a lot of chatting to explain but I don't want to scare you off. It is just something where I've had to fight to survive. Other than that... I'm a geek and I love doing geeky things or introducing people to my interests! I am an introvert that can be an extrovert under the right circumstances! Like... I play Dungeons and Dragons! I am, THAT KIND OF GEEK, but that is a safe place for me to really be loose and have fun. I am known to have a quick wit and, yeah, sometimes say things that people don't expect to come out of a girl that I look like. I am getting active again (has to do with what I have been fighting with) but you know, I would love to be active with someone else. Whether it be walking, running, or anything physical I haven't done before.

I am currently a PhD student in anthropology, and my research focuses on family formation behaviors among young-ish adults in Bangkok, Thailand. Once upon a time I lived in Thailand for two years, which means that I speak decent Thai AND I can tell you where to get the best Thai food in NYC (Quees, obviously). However, I have always dreamed of living in France and maybe that will happen someday...briefly, because this city is my true home. The French language was one of my first loves, though. So, at the risk of sounding uppity, I will tell you that I love French films and also wine (which, fortunately, requires minimal language skills to order, because my French has gotten a bit rusty). If money was not an issue, I would become a poet. I used to write very seriously when I was younger, but have lost it a bit. So, this semester I am taking a poetry writing workshop while also teaching two undergraduate anthropology classes. Now that I think about it, being a grad student doesn't pay well either. Maybe I should have become a poet after all! Seeing friends ideally involves wine and/or delicious food (and NB: I am carnivorous! No tofu for me). Don't be fooled, though, I am not much of a cook. This is less because I am not good at cooking and more because I usually get home late-ish and I am too lazy to make much of anything. Finally, in case I sound like I spend all of my time either being intellectual, exercising, or having a quiet drink, I make a point of staying out late dancing from time to time. I love to dance and also to know that I can still stay out until 4am. Sometimes. And even if the next day hurts a lot more than it used to. I like a simple first date that allows for some good conversation. Getting drinks is a good way to go, and can possibly extend to dinner if it goes well. More fun and interesting dates (e.g.

Talking about myself is the hardest thing! I am hard working but do like to let loose weather it be a night out or in. I looking for someone that just clicks. Yes I know that is a stretch but I do believe by going by someone's got feeling. Any question just ask, if I don't answer I'm either busy or not interested. Just the straight truth sorry. You decide!
