About Me

I am a loyal, honest, and giving person and I expect the same in return from those in my life. I also have a strong sense of humor and value that trait in others as well. I am a person that can find humor in almost anything but I also have a serious and introspective side that I share in my writing. Animals are also a very important part of my life. I have two wonderful Japanese Chins. One is a six year old male, Eggroll, and the other 9 year old female, Foo. They are my pride and joy. I also spend much of my time doing wildlife advocacy work and running my own blog on the topic. I enjoy researching and writing about the topics that affect me the most in this area. I also enjoy music and like to take long walks while enjoying the wonders of nature. After years of driving a desk I am rediscovering how much fun being active is. At times I also transport injured and orphaned birds and small animals to wildlife rehabilitators. I recently finished my Bachelor’s degree in Emergency and Disaster Management and I am considering continuing on for my Master’s in Public Administration. I played the “what do I want to do when I grow up” game too long and I realize that I am at my best in the emergency management field. I have been a public safety dispatcher for 14 years. I started as a ***dispatcher for a municipal police department for 13 ½ years until our dispatch office was closed in ***. After trying a couple of other positions in the private sector I came back to public safety and I am currently an emergency dispatcher for a local technical college. I have a knack for being very calm under pressure and I finally realized that emergency services is where I belong and where my future is. I also served as a quartermaster in the Army Reserve during the ***’s. I am looking for someone that doesn’t play games. I enjoy intelligent, thoughtful conversations, and appreciate the world around me. I want to meet someone that appreciates and values me for who I am and for what I am capable of achieving. I am loyal to a fault and that has burned me in the past. I do not want to make that mistake again and trust is a vital part of any relationship. I am not a religious or spiritual person but I have a strong ethical/moral compass and I go out of my way to help people and animals in need.
