About Me

Until an actual dialogue is started I know I’m not alone in finding online dating rather impersonal and artificial. I personally find the number of people here overwhelming. In the face of potential rejection and an aversion to rejecting others, the whole process seems like needless stress. Not often, but occasionally, I do meet someone where a real connection is made and everything is comfortable, natural, as if two pieces of a puzzle have found each other. Unfortunately the last two people this happened with were already married (this occurred off-site). But my presence here will increase my odds of meeting someone, yes? And despite how daunting this site may seem at times, I can step back and realize that I’m only looking to find one person.I never really know how to fill out these profiles. I feel the questions asked (in the Chemistry questionnaire, etc.) change with circumstances and from one time to another. I’ll try to just be as authentic and candid as possible. If my future soulmate is reading this, then I should write more rather than less. I’ve found that sometimes one piece of information can be off-putting to one person, while another person identifies with it.Regarding ‘types’ I’m typically attracted to, I’m wary of going into things with specific expectations or preconceptions.I’ve been described as a good listener, non-judgmental, logical, affectionate, and intense. My natural self is silly, and I try to say ridiculous things with a straight face. At work preferably.I’m determined to live a fulfilling, well-balanced life, and now that I have a career path I’ve settled on, I’m committing to finding someone to adore. To finding my other puzzle piece.Long career/education answer:I graduated with a BA in political science with a minor in philosophy in ***, right before the recession. I naïvely studied things I was interested in without giving serious thought to what I wanted to pursue for a career. When I graduated I applied to various jobs but without a clear specialization I failed to obtain anything and did jobs ‘just for now’ while focusing on paying off debt. Four years later I finally paid off the debt but was actually further away from beginning a career because I was no longer eligible for internships and I felt like I was tainted with a string of clerical jobs. I felt qualified to do any number of decent jobs by virtue of finishing the degree, and I would apply to many, but the current economic reality requires specialization of some kind or previous experience doing that job. I wanted to pursue something of substance given how inefficient and corrupt many aspects of society are, but one of the biggest lessons I learned from university is that everything you learn from classes is in books one can simply get from the library or find online. ‘Expertise’ does not carry the weight it once had given the widespread availability of knowledge just keystrokes away. Since graduating I’’t paid very well (I’m currently a Database Administrator at the airport).’ve been living at home as a result, because to do otherwise seems financially irresponsible. I’ve recently decided to obtain a Certificate in Conflict Resolution at the Justice *** pursue a position as an Employment Standards Officer. I’m disappointed it has taken this long to decide on a career, but it doesn’t seem that unusual nowadays. So even though I’m just basically starting out, I have a focus now and it’s something I think I’ll enjoy and be good at. Not something I simply fell into but something I can willfully pursue with vigor.

I am a pretty stable in my life and I am looking for someone to enjoy my life with. I work multiple jobs right now, because I haven't met that special person. I love jigsaw puzzles, going to Jets and Mets games (I know, they both suck) with my Dad (father/son bonding), playing sports of any kind competatively(Volleyball, Softball, Darts, Bowling). Trying something new is incredible (thank you Living Social and Groupon). I like to cook. I am a gourmet chef, but I like putting a meal together. I can find enjoyment in almost any activity.Let's see if I can explain what I am looking for. I am looking for someone that I look forward to telling about my day and I miss when they aren't around. Being attracted to one another is important, but personality is even more important. I haven't been excited about a connection (not talking sexually) in a while and isn't that what we are all here for; an incredible connection.I love all types of music. I know that a lot of people say that, but my tastes range from classical and country, to rock, rap and metal. My favorite thing to do is going to concerts. Small clubs or big arenas, I love watching a band perform.I don't want to write everything here. I am pretty open, so ask me anything.
