I hate online dating, I really do. The odds are so stacked against the possibility that you might like and be attracted to a total stranger, who then also likes and is attracted to you, that they cannot be calculated. I've been on so many uncomfortable, if not painful, dates that I'm starting to go on blind dates armed with a suicide hotline number in my purse. I don't think I can handle one more nerve-wracking, mind-numbing date/freak-fest/judge-a-thon where we sit across the table picking each other apart, hoping we aren't being picked apart, but of course we are and so one of us ends up crying in the car. Maybe I should just quit this site, although they never let you go without a fight, so you have to click through more screens that ask you:"Are you sure you want to cancel your account? So now this is what you get and, frankly, you're lucky to get it, because statistically speaking, you're no spring chicken, no matter how young you are."-I got this from a book I'm reading, I absolutely had to share it!Aside from my little rant, I have many redeeming qualities (don't we all, that's why were are allll here, right?).     Hi Friends!I just moved to Nanaimo, and literally do not know a single soul here! I love cooking, hosting of any kind, cycling, trying new coffee shops and restaurants and spending time with my family. Though there is something to be said for ”the rich, brash, cowboy-hat clad, oil-thirsty, hyper-conservative redneck” kind of guy, I am not one to adhere to the Albertan stereotypes.I am an extremely compassionate individual and believe that there is nothing sexier than a man who understands the importance of helping others. People who snarl and pass judgments on strangers are the true definition of *** me, and I find it to be a big turn off. Empathy is a crucial quality that is extremely lacking in this world. Love thy neighbor, even if he is a total ***hole! I am also very affectionate, no matter who you are. Watch out, I am a hugger! I have heard that there are people out there that actually don’t like to be touched. If you are one of them, I respect you, but I don’t understand you!Family is really important to me. I have an incredibly close relationship with my parents. My daughter is 4, and is an incredible little human being.I love hanging out with people who are eager to have new experiences in life! Doesn’t have to be anything crazy, but you know, don’t tell me that you hate sushi if you’ve never tried it! I LOVE to laugh, and appreciate the art of sarcasm. You do not have to be quick-witted or even well spoken, but think of something more creative than “Hey, how are you” before you message me. Anybody want to take me on a tour?Xo Talk soon!
