So it's come to this... online dating. Does no one meet organically anymore? Has everyone lost the ability to speak in person? I'm old fashioned myself, and would much prefer to meet someone face to face, but alas, online dating it is...I've been out of the dating scene for a while. I'm a total nerd (ask anyone). I'm also a foodie and music snob. I will try anything once and have almost 10,***songs from every genre on my ipod. I pride myself on being unique. The fact is, the older I get, the less I care what people think of me. If you aren't within my close circle of family and friends, you can shove off. I'm the quirky girl next door that you can definitely bring home to mom (tattoos included). I am looking to meet that special someone and settle down, get married, have a house with a yard and have children (pets included). I'm a very spiritual person with a lot of beliefs and for that I am very open minded. However, if you have any emotional baggage and still need to get your life together, move along. I do not tolerate negative people - they're draining. I want a partner, a friend, a lover and an equal. I'm pretty laid back, but the old fashioned girl in me really wants you to pick the date.

I read a lot and watch bad television...really bad. I actually enjoy reading academic journals in my field, which makes me pretty ideal for research, which is what I do. I just started working on my second master's degree, this one is more practical than the theory based one I finished a few years ago. I'm pretty rad, which is a word I'd like to bring back. I also have a pretty cynical and sarcastic sense of humor, which isn't for everyone. I like a little of everything when it comes to music. I worked on a radio station while in undergrad, and I loved it. I was able to experience a variety of music. I probably listen to alternative and indie music the most. It has prepared me for the constant disappointment that comes with being a progressive. I'm a big fan of a low key first date. I like coffee shops and dive bars because they offer a low pressure situation with the added bonus of being able to hear the person you're with.
