So I'm an elementary school teacher and I'm incredibly serious about the work that I do...I love my career. Hobbies include concerts (into punk/alt mostly), cooking and baking, snowboarding, film, quoting Anchorman, drinking wine, microbrews, stuff like that. I want to hang out with intelligent people that can hold a conversation and have a totally inappropriate sense of humor. Career ambitions and a vocabulary above an 8th grade level are a must. I should also probably say that I love hikes and long walks along with the occasional jog, kickboxing class, so on and so forth...looking for someone who takes pride in their health and appearance without being a self consumed jerk. As I am divorced from an enlisted Army soldier, although I respect your work, I am not very interested in dating one again. The last thing I want to do is get close to someone who will be gone frequently for training and deployments. Despite the fact that this is an "Army town," I would be most interested in someone who is successful outside of the military--although I'm not *** to make a blanket rule.When it comes down to it, I was raised in a pretty amazing white-picket-fence style family, and I'm an extremely loving person who will do anything for those that I love. As I am just getting back on my feet after a rough patch, I'd love to meet someone that can be a great friend and hopefully something more. I'm smart, I'm silly, I'm active, and I'd like to think that I'm interesting and funny, but I guess that depends on your opinion. Update, based on what I've learned on this site so far: If you don't know how to correctly use your/you're/there/their/they're, or if you're secretly way younger/older than you claim to be, or if you only want someone you can get ahold of randomly for the sole purpose of sex, or you can't correctly punctuate a sentence, or you're missing a lot of teeth, or if you don't like children or have a negative opinion of educators...please don't waste your time. If you realized that I just wrote one hell of a run-on, you get bonus points. PS: saying "you pretty," "hi," or "insert disgustingly lewd comment" will not dignify a response. Happy fishing! I am an open-minded, reliable, honest, outgoing, respectful, caring, trusting, and funny person. Sometimes I can be shy, but I do like to get to know new people. Once I get to know someone, I do talk a lot more. I love the outdoors, camping, hiking, and traveling to new places/countries. However, I also like to have down time once in awhile where I just relax and listen to music, or read a good book. Sometimes, I'll watch a movie with a friend, or play a board game. One thing that I especially love to do is cook, and I try to cook as much from scratch as possible. I also love photography and recently have been thinking of learning how to play the piano. If there's one thing that I really love, it's being comfortable with someone and having a conversation where there isn't a lot of awkward silences, but at the same time there's no pressure to talk. It's more that you're so comfortable that you don't have to try too hard to keep a conversation going. Also, that you can talk about really anything and have a great conversation. I absolutely love going to the beach on a nice day and watching the sunset, or have a campfire. Trying new hikes in the woods is also really fun. I do have a dog who means a lot to me. He's a rescue and absolutely loves everyone. I don't know what else to mention, other than, I love a wide variety of music. What I am looking for in a man is someone who is open-minded, trusting, respectful, reliable, (aside from his career/job, school, and time with his friends and/or family.) Also, honest, caring, outgoing, (but, can also enjoy some time to relax,) and has a good sense of humor. I really want him to know how to balance his life out where he is outgoing, but knows when to relax. Someone who is goal-oriented and knows what he wants and doesn't want in his life and a relationship. I know that most people struggle with what they want and don't, but I mean I find that I am really confident that I do know what I want and don't in life and a relationship. Along with all of that, I really would like someone who takes other peoples feelings into consideration, and knows how to put someone before themselves, but not to an unhealthy level. Also, I would like him to have confidence and good self-esteem, but not to the point that he has a massive ego. I would also like a gentleman who has good manners, but also knows how to laugh and have fun. Basically, I'm looking for someone who has the same, or similar interests as me to enjoy life with. I would love to cook dinner for my date with candles on the table, and have relaxing music playing. If that wasn't what interests the person, than maybe a picnic, (depending on the weather, of course,) lunch on a weekend, or dinner at a nice park. If not that, than maybe go out to eat, and a movie. If the weather is nice, maybe a walk on the beach, go to a park, or even a hike. Then again, just getting coffee or a drink is completely fine with me. The options are endless in my mind and all I care about is that both of us are comfortable. I usually like to have the chance to talk and get to know each other in a quiet place where we can hear each other.
