I am cheerful, compassionate, and affectionate. I have many interests. Most of my friends are younger then I am. I'm not sure if that's because they are more fun or I am perpetually a 14 year old. I don't do a lot of "partying", but I like to have fun. I am looking for a very honest relationship. I believe honesty and trust is vital in any good relationship. I think I am adventurous and would try just about anything once; twice if I really liked it, just to be sure.Life should be fun, but balanced. Sure I know that being an adult is necessary sometimes, but, why not enjoy life. I like to try new things and get joy out of simple things. I like to read, play board games, write, watch older TV shows and superhero and action movies, cooking, traveling, dressing up, and dressing in sweats, amusement parks, carnivals, picnics, nice restaurants, ice cold water, good white wine, love notes, photography, home made gifts, waterfalls, sunsets, and sharing at least some of these things with that special person.I'm looking for a man who will make me feel special, will listen to my opinion, even if he doesn't agree. Who has confidence but is willing to make a compromise. Someone who likes to try new things inside our romantic world and outside in the big, bad world. And I want to be that person for him.I believe that no matter how much you love each other a relationship takes hard work if you want to keep it alive and fresh.I believe everything happens for a reason. There is no sense in living with guilt or regret. If you look at any situation, it could always be way worse.     Depending on the situation or activity, I can be low-key and reserved or high-energy. And, it's difficult to compare myself with others but I feel I'm in very good physical shape...I enjoy hiking, cycling (road cycling and rail-trails) and still use my cross-country skis. My preference would be to enjoy your company and get to know you while we spend time together outdoors...why don't we meet up to go kayaking, canoeing, hiking, or sailing together? I've had to be practical while raising my daughter and have stuck it out for her (in the middle of nowhere and hours from anywhere). Now that I can retire..or cut back to an easier part-time job, I will have more time to travel. I am seeking direction on this site (but, I wonder is this too idealistic or unrealistic?..).), enjoy the outdoors, learn a folk ***, and spend more of my free time volunteering. Music: americana 'roots', folk, world, celtic, swing/big band, some rock. Favorite recent songs: 'That's the way love goes.' (Shawn Colvin &; Ride). Books: currently reading The Plot Against America. Favorite books last year: The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America's Great Migration, Blink, Outliers. It's also nice to get together for an activity such as a hike.

Sharing true love between a man and woman can be a very passionate and completing experience. This is my definition of having a soul-mate and the ultimate goal of this search. A first date should be arranged after a causual meeting to discover if there is chemistry. If chemistry does exist, a romantic dinner, followed by a long walk on the beach or in a park, holding hands, learning everything about each other, not wanting to say goodbye, and watching the sun set over the horizon would absolutely melt my heart.
