I'm restoring an old house ***. Wish I'd paid more attention in geometry class, lol. I have a love hate relationship with it. I love it in the summer, and live like a pioneer in the winter. I try to heat with wood, so yes...I can wesplit my own wood. I love living in a neighborhood that creates such deep friendships.I'm as comfortable in the city as I am in the country. It's all about balance in life. I drive a truck, live mostly in jeans, but will dress up for the symphony or special nights at the museum and I know how to use the correct fork or spoon. I live a pretty quiet life. Books, dogs, antiquing, movies, (miss my horses,) walks, boating, long drives, Autumn days, farmers markets....they keep me content. It's kind of important to me that the man in my life enjoys books. We don't have to enjoy the same things. Diversity makes things more interesting. If you don't have any animals in your life, my crew might overwhelm you. I have 4 dogs and a kitten. To me, there is always room for one more lost or unloved animal. I listen to just about every style of music. I have a little bit of everything in my music cloud. I consider myself an independent vs a left or right wing. While I am not religious, I am quite spiritual. Organized religion isn't me. I am drawn to our Native American's spirituality. Everything has a purpose and ought to be respected.My TV choices find me as boring as everyone else, Criminal Minds, Revolution, Scandal, The Walking Dead... I like the same dramas you probably like. I'm not into the half hour comedies. I enjoy dramas or good scary vs comedy or love story movies. Men that interest me are bright, they think out of the box. They are passionate and compassionate. They are accomplished and sometimes quirky. I enjoy conversation and learning something during those conversions. For me it's your heart and passion, it's also your brain and your thoughts. You are a compassionate man and have humility. You are passionate and have an artistic and altruistic interest in your world. I don't care if you jump out of planes as long as you don't care that I won't. You are confident and have a great sense of humor. Humor is important to me. Sometimes it's all that separates us from going nuts. You have multiple interests and are complex. You are a man that would not walk away from someone or thing in need, you'd get involved. You are creative. Either with your hands or thoughts. Best of both worlds would have you creative in both. I'm sure you probably have some issues, we all do. However, if you have so many that I need to hire a teamster to put them in a cargo hold... we may not be a good fit.I have one pet peeve... illiteracy in a profile keeps me from reading to the end. If this is to work I might as well start off with the disclosure of one of my quirks.I'm self employed. I provide a service for ladies, that by any ones definition, would be considered a luxury . Soooo, with our current economic climate some days are diamonds, some days are jet. This is the awkward area. How do you determine a first date until you've had a chance to talk and learn something about the other. Something breezy, a coffee shop where we can talk. A book store. We can talk and browse. A greenhouse, an antique shop. Heck, I can and do have fun in hardware stores. Let's meet at a park with our dogs and while they play in the water or leaves we can chat.

    Hot summer is here. I have another daughter getting married and yep the mom of the bride has to take care of alot of things including the alterations of the wedding. Occasionally I get out and have some down time between work and family time. Stay cool and enjoy your summertime too! "The flowers appear on the earth.The time of singing birds is come" -The second half of life hits ya and you say, Hey, I have some things I want to do (bucket list) and/or leave a legacy. I went back to college and for theatre design. I loved it. The artist in me is more vivid when peace is there. The second half of life is a journey I'm anticipating in hopes of sharing with someone. My faith in God has kept me on a positive perspective in life and am expecting a journey with peace and joy in spite of the twists and turns it may bring me. I have four daughters and two sons. The girls are grown and on their own and we still have a good relationship. The boys are in high school (senior and sophomore) and live with their dad. I love going to their home games to cheer them on when time allows. We have a good relationship as mother and sons. I'm there for the eldest son in preparing him for college next year, following his sister's college career track. I enjoy being a grandma from the active side and not on the rocking chair. I tend to look at life through the eyes of a child and am excited about life.Sports: Baseball-the Cubs! Football and Nascar (just a spectator.....don't know too much about it but enjoy it) Interests: Activities would be: Outdoors:The beach, boating, gardening, walking/ running trails, bicycle rides, exploring nature at its finest in all seasons, Frisbee, downhill snow skiing, and snow angels. Indoors: Art..drawing/painting/crafts, puzzles,euchre, chess, checkers, scrabble, cooking from scratch, home style popcorn and a movie as well as working out at the gym. I have traveled the U.S.A. for family vacations and a couple designer trips. I haven't gotten to the east coast for the northeast drive in the fall...another bucket list item I must do. Do you have anything you haven't done which isn't too crazy that you would like to do? I have a few things and places I have been. I love to hear your stories too. Dreams:I know we are not to be alone in this world. While I wait for the one that I would grow old with and enjoy life's pleasures there are things I would like to do. I'd like to learn to fly a plane...some day. I would love to sail. After much reading of other cultures, I would like to visit them and see for my own eyes the fascinating worlds out there.
