Salut!Let's get to it. Some of my favorite things in no particular order are; the outdoors, cheese, furry animals, wine, foreign films, happy hour, estate sales, FISHING, waterfront festivals, hiking, yoga, the sound of rain and the smell of it on the street afterward, dark coffee, bacon, sunshine, TRAVEL. To name a few.Quirks:I hate smelly sponges.I am a francophile. It is difficult for me to pass a dog without petting it. Don't even try to change my opinion, you will fail as did the countless droves before you. I swear on occasion, though usually when driving. I may be willing to practice inner monologue if you are easily offended. Well, nah. I do know how to practice propriety when neccesary!Pet peeves include;Profile pics without a single smile among them and... the bathroom shirtless shot. Can't do it. You, Mr. Awesome, will surely agree that drama sucks! I have an impossibly long list of places I want to see that grows faster than I can cross them off, but I will die trying. I hope to one day find the kick-ass individual that feels the same way about seeing new places... if not, I'm going anyway, fool.If any of this resonates, feel free to shoot me an *** disclosure: I don't give out my phone number until after having met someone. Hello! Are you fascinating and sincere? I am looking for a masculine, honest and intellectual gentleman. Toss in a good sense of humor for a wonderfully well-rounded package.I love the Arts, especially jazz and classical music. I enjoy listening to live music and going to venues large and small. LA has so much to offer! After one particularly wonderful night of freestyle dancing to a great band last October, I discovered swing dancing! I never gave partner dancing much thought, but after a few lessons and nights out on the dance floor, I discovered how fun it can be! I love a sophisticated evening but I am also easily pleased by spending quiet time with family and friends. I am proud of my accomplishments, from the Master's degree in French I received at UCLA, to my career in Market Research. I am thankful that I have always been able to adapt to life's challenges and opportunities.I an thankful in my life, but would love to find a wonderful man who understands me as someone who is at once creative, passionate, and articulate. I am looking for someone I can respect, admire, and with whom I can share on an intellectual level. At the same time, I desire that irresistible chemistry that fuels a common fire. I’m looking for a bright man, but one who is kind hearted and even creative (or at least appreciates the arts). He aspires to greatness in his work and in his personal life. I believe it is important for a couple to feel a spark through conversation. For me, this is a key component of chemistry. It is as important as sharing a laugh together or similar interests. That being said, I value family above all. It is my sincere hope to have a marriage of my own as special as my parents'. My parents are still happily married, and their relationship is an honest and inspirational one. If you are honest, curious and believe we may share that certain something worthy of a long-term relationship, please contact me. I look forward to hearing from you!I love being outside on a warm, sunny weekend afternoon and enjoying the cultural events our city has to offer. Shall we meet at LACMA for jazz on the terrace or glide across the dance floor to some vintage tunes? Maybe you'd rather share great conversation over a tasty lunch followed by a stroll through a beautiful park or along the cliffs overlooking the sea? I love sailing (especially dinghy racing), swing dancing, golf, tennis and power walking. And, I enjoy watching sports on TV and in person, especially if it's UCLA or the Lakers in the best of times. True, these are the makings of more than a first date, but I'm looking for years of shared experiences! In terms of things I enjoy, Sinatra is my favorite singer, especially when he played the Sands in Vegas with Count Basie. The Romantic era of classical music is most evocative for me. French, Italian, American and Chinese cuisine are favorites, as are nice Chardonnays and Merlot.Hemingway is my favorite author (I've read "The Sun Also Rises" many times & especially enjoy it in the summer while lounging by the pool or when traveling abroad.) I find Proust and Chateaubriand to be the most inspiring French writers.I love architecture more and more and truly appreciate the bountiful character in LA's homes, apartments, and commercial buildings. From the ***'s-30's Spanish apartments and estates (Wallace Neff!) to our thriving modern and reinvented downtown. (Have you ever been to The Edison on a Thursday night?)

Looking for: man. In age: 40-60
I recently got back from another trip away, it was an absolute delight, hot, sunny, blue skies, lovely people and now I'm back but hopefully, I'll return in the not too distant future! One of my favourite exotic spots. The older I get, the less I can tolerate the short, grey days and the long, dark nights Oh well,I can always cuddle up with my hot water bottle!! and really, I am an optimist! I really do miss my periods away from home, lapping up the cultural delights of various exotic lands. I swear I'll go back to the gym, honest! But I always find other things to do, like decorating the house, Spending time with friends, nights out at local wine bars, restaurants, cafes and the cinema. I love old places, antiques, learning about and experiencing other cultures, listening to and playing music (eclectic mix) and anything with history, (that doesn't include my men!) but I also like new designer type quirky places; anything with a sense of humour! (and that goes for my men too!)I'm not really into small talk and enjoy conversing with people about interesting, stimulating matters with some substance, so please, no 'one liners' If you want to meet me, can you send me a message cos I dont always look at the 'wants to meet you' bit:)I would take them to a far away place, maybe to see the Northern Lights, we could watch the brilliant light show together, whilst drinking a glass of champagne.
