For too many years, I fell into the trap of defining myself by the work I do. "I'm a writer", I'd say. "It's what I do. I've never had another job." While true, I think I'm much more well-rounded person now. Balance is what it's all about.I work out of the house and sometimes work out of the house, like at Spanish Banks West with my dog.Now, I'm not saying I'm a handyman or anything, but I won't back down from a challenge. I'll do some electrical, mechanical, plumbing if I have to, and painting. Aaaaaahhh, painting. A while ago I was challenged by a plastic cap on an aerosol can of spray paint. The closest tool in the garage was a hatchet. So, I swung the hatchet at the cap, hoping to knock it off. ***, I dealt the can a glancing blow and put a Titanical gash in it. The paint inside, sensing it was free, escaped and clung to the nearest object, which was my face. I must have looked funny blindly staggering out of the garage, glasses blackened out, head looking like a bowling ball with blackened teeth. Yes, I was smiling at the time of the incident.Smiling because, all calamities aside, I'm a happy guy. I play guitar badly and sing joyously and with no embarrassment or shame whatsoever. I've been known to bake a killer pie. Good thing I love keeping in shape, with strength training and my most recent obsession, Spinning, otherwise known as indoor cycling, which I do 6 times a week. I'd recommend it for anyone looking to enhance their cardio routine, have a ton of fun and get a killer workout! I've just obtained my Spinning *** certification but I haven't started teaching yet. And, oh yeah. I just bought a VW camper van, so plan to go for a lot of road trips next spring and summer.I shave my head. I love laying out in the sun. I donate blood every two months. I love giving back and doing volunteer service work, because for me gratitude is an action.

Ah, how to describe yourself in order to meet a mate, a match? The balance of ego-centric salesmanship and self-deprecation. Okay...let's see... I'd define myself as complex in thought, deep in feeling, and simple in desires.Most important to me, in prioritized order descending from greatest back: my son (he'll be 10 in July ***, my job and students (teaching really is a calling for me), and just being very happy and in finding happiness in the everyday experience. To me the little things count, they define so much of what others may find mundane. When two people meet and share the special understanding of one vision in those things, well, that's beginning of magic... I think! And, ya' know, that's what I'm looking for, that special vision, that single language, that friendship that is so much more with the woman who I've always known in my heart but was yet to meet.yeah, Magic...I'm not looking for perfect; I'm not a big fan of perfect. I'd rather that my imperfections fit in Her imperfections so that we lock together like two puzzle pieces that had been missing from the scheme for too long. Perfect fit is great; perfection? eh, overrated in my opinion. Square bathroom tiles fit together perfectly but don't link while those puzzle pieces, they hold each other tight.I teach 8th grade math and train math teachers in my school and district. My B.A. is in English (it's a story...you'll like it). My favorite subject to teach was Science but... ah, "...as way leads to way..."As well as teaching I have a small, but fairly successful, side-business. It's fun and somewhat profitable. If we get to the point of talking I promise to tell you about it.You can find me in the gym ***times a week. I'm athletically built but like a linebacker. Not fat in the least, but I've always enjoyed working-out so I'm a muscular guy. Not bragadocio but some ladies don't care for my type; some women prefer the runner/tennis player body or more slightly built guys. I'm just letting you know that's not my build.Wine is preferable to beer, but beer kicks heiny in the summer at a barbeque!
