About Me

I am an on-the-go person with high energy who kayaks whenever I have a chance. I love nature and hiking from October through April (not a heat person), the practice of yoga, swimming, and watching Netflix on the treadmill. I am not into the bar scene, but I LOVE to go dancing; especially gothic, industrial, and disco. I am an extremely positive person, looking for the same. I am an only child from a single-parent household that now really craves to be around people. Perhaps I am making up for being such a quiet child. I am a cuddler, true romantic, a little daring at times, and show my affection easily. Being intimate is very important to me (especially after that first 3-month glow wears off in a relationship.-TERM relationship. I am very serious about that. I finished a PhD in history a couple years ago and teaching is not for me, so I am searching for my next career while I take care of my 84-year-old mother with dementia. For now, I am just about to begin a starting-position job at a big company and writing. Yes, I am a true femme who paints her nails and wears matching lipstick sometimes, & I also shovel dirt in my back yard and have *** wall (Libra = a little bit of male and female on the scales.) Girls, I have a really big tool box with 2 power drills; literally! Many of my power tools were handed down to me from my mother and grandmother. I grew up in a very matriarchal family. I practice pescetarian eating because of the blood-type diet, in touch with my feelings, and try to be kindly honest. I love my two cats, tent camping, the Law of Attraction, and my public library (especially Books-on-CD). I practice mindfulness/meditation, natural healing, positive thinking, composting, and grow a few vegetables & herbs.I would like to meet someone whose energy is positively catching. I prefer soft-butch to butch, and still I am really open to what the future brings. You must have a really, really large brain.     I work a lot of hours and I do not have the typical Mon. - Fri. ***job, so it is hard to get out and meet new people. I have been in the same job for 21 years now and have actually learned to deal with the hours. I do like to get out and enjoy my free time when I have it. I enjoy just about any music but lean toward singer/songwriters in small venue. VERY casual. If I had the option, I would actually like to skip the first date. Not that I don't enjoy getting to know someone, it is just a nerve racking situation at times. That is why I prefer it to be casual. First meeting - yes that is a better term :) ....meeting at a local restaurant with an outdoor patio, enjoying a glass of wine or cold craft beer and some appetizers wearing the most comfortable jeans I own. If that goes well, there will be future opportunities for a more formal "date"
