About Me

I love laughter and am very attracted to people who can make me laugh. I can be very funny at times, and at other times very serious. I especially appreciate sarcastic humor. I love my dogs, my cats and my son. They are all my babies.What do I want? That's what I'm trying to figure out. Right now, I want to date and find out what is important to me in a man. After a long term, passionless relationship, I feel the need to get to know many people to figure out what is right for me. If the right man comes along, I will not turn him away, but I'm not rushing to find him. First I want to find out more about what I want.Update ***and ongoing:I have been dating and observing those traits that work for me as well as those that don't, so I thought I'd mention those traits here as a way of keeping track.I have appreciated the men who have:1) been affectionate/used terms of endearment to refer to me - I am a sucker for this2) been kind/treated me well3) expressed their attraction to me with class and/or passion4) had great senses of humor5) had a similar mindset as mine6) been direct and real with me7) helped me step outside my comfort zone8) been a friend first and a potential romantic partner second9) Bonus points to the guy who helped me look for my car for an hour when I couldn't remember where I parked it. You're awesome! (At least you were until we got to number 8 below.)I have not appreciated the following actions in the men I have gone out with:1) I did not appreciate showing up for a first date and seeing my date groping another woman; telling me I look great does not make up for this.2) I did not appreciate being stood up because my date was too drunk to show himself; no I will not reschedule.3) I did not appreciate the men (yes, plural) who have expressed their undying adoration for me but have then abruptly stopped talking to me the first time I refused to send them naked pics. Guess what. These men still don't have naked pics.4) I do not appreciate when someone says they want to go out with me, but then refuses to do so. WTF?5) I do not appreciate the date who tries to push beyond my stated physical boundaries. If I set a limit, I mean it. Oh, and I'm a black belt in karate so watch out ;***I did not appreciate the guy who chatted with me nonstop for two weeks and then stopped cold turkey with no explanation. If you decide you hate me, can you please just tell me and not make me wonder what happened?7) I did not appreciate the guy who whenever I asked him a question online, he'd give me one word answers, and then invited me to his house for the SOLE purpose of taking care of his boner. Have a personality first, people.8) I did not appreciate the guy who told me that he wanted a long term relationship just because the thought that was what I wanted to hear. Not wanting a long term relationship will not take you out of my dating pool. Being dishonest probably will, though.Please understand that with very few exceptions, I enjoyed almost every date I've been on (yes, even with the groper.) I enjoy the humor in these situations and just generally enjoy going on a date. It makes me feel alive.As I continue to date, I will continue to update this list until such time as I am ready to settle down! :)
