About Me

I like to think of myself of a healthy mix of contradictions in search of the ever elusive "life balance." I am the sole "yankee" of my southern (KY and TN) family. I'm equally as likely to reference a Saturday Night Live skit as I am an academic article to make a point. I can be very deep and reflective or spend time discussing celebrity dating habits. I drink a kale smoothy nearly every day but also really appreciate a good bacon cheeseburger. I believe that our past experiences can have tremendous influence on who we are today, but I just as strongly believe that we are responsible for the things that might hold us back. Above all else, I value the ability to find some humor, especially ironic or sarcastic (but not mean-spirited), in nearly everything. I terms of what I "bring to the table" relationally, I have been told pretty consistently that I'm a good listener, empathetic, very honest, loyal, and funny. As for what I'm looking for: while I enjoy meeting new people and making friends, I'm definitely at the point in my life where I'm looking for a partner. I really like kind, feminine women who value work-life balance. Meaning, I want a partner who values her career but can also leave work at work and enjoy her time off, hopefully some of it spent with me taking wonderful indulgent vacations. I also want someone who takes care of herself physically but is not overly shallow.I realize I sort of live in the middle of nowhere and like you, I'm guessing, I'd rather not do a long distance relationship.
