About Me

The story of me..... There is nothing more important to me than spending time with family and friends (and my dog). I have a full life and I enjoy what I do for a living. I am a very active person, however I really enjoy coming home at the end of the day and curling up on the couch for my down time with a glass of wine, my dog at my feet. I don't like to limit myself and I'm always open to enjoying new things.I would love to meet someone who is down to earth, with a great sense of homour. Life is an adventure and I'm excited to see what each day is going to bring. A perfect first date would be maybe out for a drink and conversation, taking time to get to know each other.

I\'m spiritual, laid back, goofy, loves music, Intelligent, and romantic, open minded. My match would be younger than me, single, no kids, holds a job, should be a reflection of me.

Personally, I don't think people can describe themselves truly, in a paragraph. I can start by saying that I'm just a girl trying to make it out in this big world *like everyone else*, make my dreams a reality, and to be lucky enough to find someone to share it with along the way....... I believe we're all unique in our own way's. Sometimes that uniqueness stands out for everyone to see and sometimes its a quiet understated way we stand out. So to say what my unique qualities as a human being are, is to say, get to know me. I can tell you that I have a big heart, love to laugh *it keeps us young*, and have a zest for life, love my family, friends, my dog, music, , inspirational quotes, lip-glosses & nail polishes, tattoos, the spoken/written word, beautiful fast bikes & cars, and intelligent minds. My ideal first date would be to meet somewhere we can get to know each other face to face.

A few things about me:1) Yes, I'm an English teacher but, no, you should not be watching your grammar. There are exceptions, for sure, but here's the point: being a reader just means I'm drawn to narrative and art, metaphor and meaning, subtlety and resonance. The grand uniqueness of human experience, shared, always! As a rule, apostrophes come second.1.5) I'm INTJ, pretty extremely. But I do have feelings, honest.2) I may be small, but I'm brave. I've given birth in my living room, underwater, without drugs. There's not much I can't do. And would you please remind me of that when I have ***English 12 essays to mark?2.5) Seriously hate guns. Ironically, I'm an excellent shot because Dad was a police officer and taught me how to use them.3) I would rather read a ***page book on the history of salt than look at pictures of muscly men flexing to their phones in the bathroom, on their cars, at the gym, or... pretty much anywhere. Men in adorable hats with sweet smiles, eating trail mix, on the other hand, and, well--I try not to stare.3.5) my #1 celebrity crush is... Jian Ghomeshi.***hole.4) If you tell me delightful and clever stories about taking your kid to the museum to view native masks, wooly mammoths, and animal photography, I will have a hard time forgetting you. I may even stay up late, imagining witty replies, then fail to respond because I think you're too wonderful.5) When friends try to impersonate me, they look over the tops of their glasses. Not sure if that's a librarian joke or a short joke, though I'm pretty sure I actually do it. I'd like to think it's sexy :) 5.5) I have just one dimple, but it is borderline aggressive as far as dimples go, I know. 6) I'm a classic introvert who is well-practiced at acting extrovert-ish, out of necessity. I'm a teacher, right? I'm fairly confident, but find large social groups super draining. Absolutely love one-on-one though. I do require solitude to recharge. Yes, I still enjoy live music but more often at smallish venues or outdoors where I can escape, if need be.6.5) Some transparency... I love the outdoors, camping, hiking, but if you want to do winter sports that involve something more complicated than walking with big shoes on, you'll have to teach me. Sorry. But I would love to learn! And falling down can be cute, in its own way, and don't you love being an expert?7) I've been called esoteric, but the truth is that I've been on too much of a soul journey to not care deeply about things existential. What are we made of? What are we after? What matters? Why don't we have it? What comes after? How do we know anything at all? Along those lines, I treasure ambiguity and shades of grey because they seem more honest. Certainty? A bit of an illusion, right? Truth is the thing I invented so I could live, said someone I love. Also, I have a messy relationship with religion, but am still drawn to the questions, the practices, the mystery... 8) Reading is huge--fiction, non-fiction, newspapers, magazines, graphic novels. I love poetry--reading it, hearing it, writing it, sharing it. You don't have to love it as much, but if the last thing you read was Lord of the Flies for English 11, we might have trouble. 9) In truth, I'm more connected to American politics than Canadian***Perhaps because I live inside my head a lot, I require someone who can make me laugh...we'll get along. And I do have a silly side--it's in there somewhere near my sense of adventure, which is alive, but underfed in recent years.***I appreciate sarcasm a little too much--love satire, parody, The Onion, SNL... but pretentious, self-important people make me itch. We are all people, fundamentally more alike than different. None of us really gets it, right? But there's always someone who gets it even less... ***I love my job. Seriously, I do. And I try to be good at it, and I invest a lot of myself there. This means there will be periods when I don't have tons of free time. But there will also be vacations, 12 weeks of them! And when the end of the day comes, I'll want to enjoy the people I love. Really enjoy them. And that's what I'm missing--a reason to endure all the hard stuff. Want that.***The big exclamation at the end is that I love my kids, and I want the best for them. The very best. I dont mean money. I want them to, eventually, see their mother in a beautiful relationship, to know what she's like when she's in love and has plenty of passion in her life. I want it for me and I want it for them.And... I've said too much. But if that didn't scare you, then say hello.Postscript is that my kids do have a wonderful father in their lives who makes them animal pancakes and tends to their Lego education. Also, he and I get along well (strange, but true). First meet up? Simple.First date? More fun.
