I am going to grad school to become a therapist because people amaze me! Right now, I have been doing more yoga and become more aware of the things that actually speak to me. My uniqueness comes with my ability to be authentic to what is true for me and my experience. This is how I have developed my own values and how I see the world. I also believe that I am widening those beliefs and it is a unique time to get to know me because I am more open to ways of thinking and living life. I would prefer to have someone that is interested in developing a spiritual side to them or is already in the process of doing that. I find it makes for better conversation and more depth to the relationship than going over what each other does everyday and the little things in life that come and go. Also, I need to be emotionally connected to a person for me to feel invested in spending time with them. I have tried getting people to understand what I have to offer, but I won't spend me time convincing someone that I am a great package. Just so we are clear. I also don't jump into relationships right away. I take my time to get to know someone, so please don't expect that after 2 weeks of dating that I am going to drop everything and be committed. Seems a bit of an odd request, but I have gotten it and it tells me about where the person I am dating is at in their rush to have a commitment. Also, if I meet you and you think I am just in the friend category, tell me. Please don't go back and forth and waiver or be indecisive...it is really not attractive. I am unique in that I take risks in life. My goals don't just consist of having babies and having a family. While that is important to me, it is vital to who I am that I have my own aspirations! Oh and I prefer someone that has their own 2 feet in the ground and can make their own decisions. If you are a momma's boy, please don't respond. I have dated and allmost married one of them and I want someone that has a good relationship with their parents and their is a positive influence, but they are not looking to their parents for answers on every day tasks all the time. Apparently, this seems to be a hard request to fill, but I am looking for a level of independence that shows me you are mature.Just to put this out there, I am not close with my family. If you are looking for someone that is very tight with their family, look elsewhere. In my life, I have found that I am more concerned with healthy relationships and whatever form that comes in is ok with me. I am looking to create my own healthy family so I hope that I can find someone that appreciates what I offer and realizes that my resiliency and strength will be assets that will carry for a long term healthy relationship :) Coffee and ice cream...I like my first date to be sober. I like to see a person for who they really are, not in an altered state. If I like how that goes, then we can go for a drink after or dinner.

I like really awesome one liners that completely describe someone in a single but not incomplete somewhat annoying run on sentence. As well as many other things like a man who knows how to dress himself and can fit into any situation. One who isn't afraid to be slightly uncomfortable and can always share a smile. Who isn't arrogant but not lacking in confidence. Who can take chances but not the kind that risk others feelings. Who knows there's a time and place for all emotions and isn't afraid to have some. If at first you don't succeed, try try again. Why not? I've met a handful of people doing the online dating thing and it's worth trying again. I enjoy a lot of things but, like most young professionals, I don't enjoy the bar scene and it's hard to meet new people. So here I am and we'll see how it goes.I love going to museums, attending the theatre, hiking, wandering around downtown. I also love to read, watch movies, go dancing (fun fact, I was part of a salsa dancing group for a couple of years). Like most people on here, I am a big fan of music, but I think it would be fairer to say that it plays an important role in my life. I'm never far from my iPod and listen to music from nearly all genres. I really enjoy going to live concerts as well. I enjoy football, but not enough to watch it on TV. I've also never been to a soccer game, and that seems quite popular here.I'm an event planner. I work full-time with a general service contractor doing trade and consumer shows right now, and I also work as an independent contractor producing military conferences around the country. I also produce training programs for my company and am writing our company training manual. I'm a huge advocate of learning and am constantly reading and researching new things. I'm not afraid to admit I don't know something.I’m really good at writing, baking, getting lost (seriously, I'm notorious), public speaking, organizing things.I smile and laugh a lot. Sometimes inappropriately. I call it "church giggles".I got a Kindle last year and it took me some time to open up to it, being a book lover. Now, I'm addicted. I can throw it in my bag and have hundreds of books at my disposal. Very convenient. I read almost as much now as I did when I was a kid - which is a LOT.I watch movies from many genres. My tastes are pretty varied. If the plot sounds interesting, I'm in. That being said, I haven't seen many movies in the theater in the last few years. Not really sure why.I don't watch a lot of TV, but I have Netflix and Hulu. I watch a lot of Discovery, Health, History Channel, ID, etc.I listen to almost everything. Not much into death metal or rap or country. But you'll find a couple of each of those genres on my iPod. Which goes EVERYWHERE with me.I like to cook, but when I'm heading out on the town, I love to find great seafood-especially sushi. I'm also a fan of Italian and Mexican. And you can never go wrong with dessert at the Cheesecake Factory.On a typical Friday night I am usually unwinding from the week, cleaning and running errands. So I can fully enjoy my Saturday and Sunday (assuming I'm not working).I'm not looking for something serious right off the bat, but I am open to committing to the right person. That is ultimately what I'm looking for. But I'm not afraid to be picky and neither should you. :) Happy fishing! I'm open to a lot of things. I enjoy the casual cup of coffee to get to know someone and extending it into dinner if it's going well. I also enjoy spontaneous and interesting things.;)
