I'm independent and on my own but I don't miss family events too often and find myself hanging out with them pretty often :) Almost anything...except an "intimate encounter"...I'd like to see you in person first to decide whether or not I want to have one of those with you lol!!

To be friends first & foremost I think would be great & see where things go. That way it takes the pressure off of the whole (dating aspect) I think this is something that both parties decide together because everyone is different with what they enjoy doing, or likes & dislikes, so to be fair. I would say the first date would be great spent, getting to know each other.
