I'm beginning to wonder if this is ever going to work, but where else do you meet someone when you are in an elementary school all day and don't frequent bars?... I am a special education teacher. Love my job. I am also an outdoors person... do not like to be stuck inside. I love the beach, as much as the woods, camping (I graduated from a tent long ago), hiking, traveling, having a beer at a little dive near the water, riding my Harley ( but I do not fall into the "Harley chick" category). I consider myself low maintenance-- I don't dye my hair and I hate to shop. I am comfortable with who I am--meaning- I try to be the best me I can. Have been a special education teacher for 15 years and love teaching. There is a special place in my heart for children with special needs. Laughter and a sense of humor are very important to me-- they have steered me through many a difficult situation.Raised three boys (pretty much alone - now do you see why my hair is this color? LOL!). Two who are Air Force-needless to say I am very patriotic. Support our military men and women, but I don't do politics. I do not need a man to take care of me-I own my own home, car and have a good job, however, I would love a man to share life with. I have a lot to give to the right person. I understand the balance of having a solid relationship and still maintaining your independence. I have edited my profile a couple times, but now I realize the person who will compliment my life is out there, somewhere. If it is meant to be on here, he will find me.PS: If you say you want a relationship, but don't have the time to devote to building it, then I am not the woman for you. I'm not asking you to give up your freedom, independence, house, friends. Only hoping for a man who is true and honest with himself and wants to enrich his life with a partner who has a lot to share and has an good heart. I'm down to earth and easy to get along with. I believe for any relationship to work there has to be trust, communication and honesty. When it comes to trust some people believe it has to be earned, others give it freely until the person gives them a reason not to. That's me. I trust unless I see a reason not to. I might be wrong but I think those who believe trust has to be earned is because someone has hurt them in the past and it is not right to take that into the next relationship and give that person a hard time because of what someone did to them in the past. I went through that in my last relationship and it was so unfair. I never want to go through that again.I like going for walks or drives outside the city.; any place near the water. I like flea markets, yard sales and even fruit and veggie stands. I like going out to eat occasionally or going to see a movie or both lol. I don't drink, smoke or do drugs although I don't mind if someone is a social drinker as long as they do not drink excessively & although I prefer to date a non smoker, I would consider dating a man who smokes, all in good time, if he had decent morals and treated me with respect. Dating someone who does drugs, except those prescribed by a doctor is out of the question so if you do drugs please don't waste your time sending me a message. I like one on one or getting together with a few close friends or family.I'm not looking to rush into a relationship. The friendship may develope into a relationship in due time, only time will tell.
