Grew up in CT; I was raised a Southern Baptist, but in the North. This is a rarity. My parents are mid-Westerners.I had an outstanding mother who is still alive today at almost 80. My father was very successful, but not around much as I was growing up. At 6 when my parents divorced, I didn't see my Dad until I was 14. This is important to say because I have 2 boys ages 10 and 11, who this will not happen to. But now, Dad needs a life too, as my divorce is almost through. It was not my idea.Lived abroad during my twenties; Germany and Spain. Traveled extensively in Europe and South America. Speak fluent German and Spanish. This was quite the adventure. Not sure if I even want to; love the coast. With all the traveling, it difficult to get out much. Not into a bar scene per se, but enjoy a lot getting out. Prefer private parties.Looking for special someone to become good friends, or possibly more. I have lived a lot in my almost 50 years, and have seen many things. I have experieced many exotic places and cultures. I am a person of rich depth and experience. I have much self-esteem and get along with most anybody. I like myself. I am open, sincere, honest, enthusiastic, and fun-loving. I am a good listener.I don't spend any time with non-participatory sports, like watching TV. I actually watch almost no TV. I will read the Economist, or Newsweek on a plane, or watch a movie with my kids. I have no time for sitcom TV, although I do find it entertaining.Snow skiing, windsurfing, real sailing in big boats, roller blading, and mountain biking are my favorite activities. During vacation, I like to have something to do, not just over-eat and lie around the beach or pool. I love traveling abroad. Favorite exotic countries so far are Chile and Argentina. They are so far South, they are North ! Used to be clean and safe. Not sure now in todays world. Germany is unchanged. Spain I have not been back to in a long time. I would love to visit cities/countries in the former Eastern Block; like Budapest. Croatia is supposedly heaven on earth; the worlds most beautiful place. They currently enjoy a huge German tourism. The world is large. Americans, in general, don't know much of the world. Our TV media talks nothing of the world.... "around the world in 60 secs".....; a joke really !- lets go ! I want to take up scuba diving.I gravitate towards people of high intelligence and self-esteem. I enjoy speaking with the articulate; lose interest quickly with the inarticulate. Grammatical errors bother me; can't help it, I get it from my mom.Whether there is "chemisry" or not would remain to be seen. Hi, first time on here, my friends have had some success with this site, so thought i would give it a chance. I am separated and in the process of a very amicable divorce, i have a 12 year old son that lives with me. I am not looking for a mother, as he has one, which as it happens is a great babysitter and she will always look after him in the evenings and at weekends.Asked friends to describe me, and i was told i am very quick witted with a very good sense of humour, but i do lack the filter between me thinking something and actually saying it, i can get very exciteable, oh and apparently i can talk too much.I own my car, house and a garage full of motorbikes, but thats my hobby and wouldnt expect anyone to go on the back of them.Enjoy going out with friends to the pub, cinema and meals out, but also like watching movies at home.smoke at the moment, but keep looking at giving up, but no one likes a quitter :) brought one of the electronic cigarettes to help, but discovered i can now smoke inddoors as well...., so now on about 80 a day :( will work on that. I would like to date and see where it leads, nothing too serious at the moment, but who knows ? Think i was about 16...... :) meeting up for a Coffee or a couple of drink in a pub would be good, and then see from there
