I have experienced quick coffee shop first dates where you are basically just saying hello, nice to meet you, some small talk then the awkward how to say goodbye. I have also had a really nice experience of meeting someone, going for a casual walk while discussing things as we went along and this person, although we have not gone any further than just being friends, has remained a good friend to this day. Whatever feels right.
