Hello all...hope you're enjoying your experience on meetville. At 50, I am trying to decide what I want to do when I grow up. Don't get me wrong, I am a professional. I'm self sufficient and I don't NEED anyone to take care of me. I work two jobs and am very involved with my extended family. I love children and music. A smile from an innocent child or a great song can fix anything...well, almost. I have been single for many years and have become very independent. When I think of a relationship I have mixed emotions. There are times when I wish I had someone around but most of the time the thought of a relationship scares the hell out of me. Why?? Because I have been doing my own thing without having to consider anyone else for a long time. I guess you could say I have become one of the most selfish, unselfish people in the world! I know, makes a lot of sense, huh? I am sure those of you around my age know exactly what I'm talking about if you've been out of a relationship for any time at all.I mainly listen to country music but love the 70's and 80's music, too. I am one of those people who get on your nerves because I sing along with almost every song that comes on. I am not a country girl, although, some of the most fun I have had has been riding on the back of a 4- My idea of camping would be in a fully functional camper or cabin! No tents please!! I have an issue with alcohol. If you think you need to drink daily, weekly, etc then this will not work for us. I believe there is much more to life that having to worry about where the effects of alcohol will take you, me or our relationship. An occational ( I realize that term is relative) drink is OK but it need not be something that happens regularly.I love spending time with family and friends. I will always spend time with family and friends.....they need, they call, I go. Just a part of my personality.Going to stop writing for now. I am learning to cook the diabetic menu for myself -- and my daughter LOVES fish and seafood -- so I am exploring new ways to cook fish and seafood that will appeal to her. I like to find antique kitchen collectibles. Interesting collectibles are getting more difficult to find these days, but that just makes a new find so much more special and exciting.I've had the same job for almost 23 years; I am not rich, but I am not destitute either. Most of my bills are current and some are even beginning to pay off. Life is an adventure....I just want to invite someone along for the ride I want a man who loves kids, maybe has kids...and wants a family. I also want a man that wants to share a private life with a woman.... I'm an open book....ask me anything. Things I love: Jumping in mud puddles, pillow fights that end up making love, the smell of bread baking in the oven, intelligent conversation, Scrabble games (any word games really), smiles of pleasure when my kids bite into a warm chocolate chip cookie just out of the oven, hugs from a two-year-old that missed you while you were gone, the voice of my best girl friend over the phone when she calls from NYC, a baby's laugh, I love hearing "I love you mom", my memories of my father, daffodils in spring, daisies in summer, swimming on a hot day, watching the stars on a blanket in the yard at night....life's simple pleasures. Care to join me?.... Negatism is just so depressing. I am not a perfect woman...nor do I expect a perfect man. I just want someone who wants to be with me...and I with him. Please ...if you've gotten this far...at least say hello. Something simple....coffee and conversation, a walk in the park....never a movie..you can't see or talk to each other. A nice dinner, picnic in the park can come later .... if you want to spend more time with one another.
