About Me

A romantic at heart and a scientist by training, I'm considerate, flexible and pragmatic. My interests include literature (I'm an avid reader, especially of English authors and the classics), music, the culinary arts, science and languages. Tropical beaches are a favorite place for me. I have a Masters degree in Biology (I also studied linguistics). I am at present working as a German to English translator (I am an accredited translator). I have also worked as a high-school science teacher and am considering doing so again in the future. My favorite hobby is cooking healthy, tasty food (but I'm not a vegetarian, I like meat and fish) and I have read a lot of books on nutrition. I pride myself on my talent for creating delicious new recipes using fresh ingredients. I'm well-rounded in interests and abilities. As far as relationships are concerned, I was in a very long-term relationship (to all intents and purposes, we were like a married couple). It would be great if I could meet someone whose personality is compatible with mine, who is optimistic and enjoys life. The person I am looking for should be flexible and not too rigid in their thinking (but please note that I am myself also very flexible and willing to make compromises). Chemistry is an absolutely crucial factor, and it could convince me to waive some (or many!) of my other criteria. Imagination and creativity would be a great plus in your favor, and it would be particularly nice if you are fond of literature. I would like to have a casual conversation on the first date - it would be nice if we could meet for a meal.

    I love making someone laugh, southern bell at heart, I'm fun, sweet, simple, caring, outgoing with a side of fun sarcastic humor! (The Irish in me!!) I'm an emergency dispatcher with police/fire, have a crazy schedule, long hours. I do enjoy the outdoors for just about "all the above" love to see it snow with the exception of being out in the bitter cold! I enjoy get together with friends for bowling, billiards, mini-golf or just meeting up at a game. I also like the quiet time on the patio with a great cup of coffee in the morning or a good drink in the evening. A good movie out (action, comedy sci-fi, some scary) or watching one at home, cuddled up with a blanket on the couch. I do want to get back to traveling/vacationing again (always best when someones with you...don't ya think?) love nature/scenery, warmer climates, beaches, the sounds of the ocean or just driving somewhere locally or new for a short weekend trip.I have 2-sons 25 and 20 not living with me. I love dogs (or animals period) and have a 10yr old, 4- Be confident not arrogant, caring, have humor, fun sarcastic with a soft side and a touch of bad who knows what he wants, is up front and not afraid to ask or say what he means and definitely do what he says.. I hate to post this but.... If you cannot post recent "NOW" pics (within a year, not ***yrs ago) and correct age.. please don't bother!! Maybe you get the same pic/age games from other women... I'M DEFINITELY NOT OTHER WOMEN!What you see in both pics, and age are correct, and by all means... what I say about me in my profile, is what I mean so... I ASK THE SAME IN RETURN from you!! I would think people want to eventually meet... lets not have any surprises!! LOL Meet for a few drinks or eat, game of pool to see if there is a connection for a second go, if not it was great to meet you anyway!! I'm always up for adventure and surprises! Heck if its nice outside.. live music, go for a ride or a walk on the town, mini golf, horse back riding, I want to be able to talk and laugh with ya, and personally wouldn't think a movie for the first meet, as its kinda hard to get to know someone in a need to be quiet setting.
