About Me

I am a single mom of two wonderful children both in high school. I have them 50% of the time as this is the schedule that makes them happy, getting to see both parents equally. They mean the world to me. I am extremely social and love being around others, but am independent too:) I want to find someone who loves great quality time together, but who also has a sense of their own individual identity and does not rely solely on their companion to make them happy. Someone who is interested in hanging out, getting to know each other, enjoying each other's company and who would be content for the time being to be in a dating relationship. I ultimately do want to find that special someone to spend the rest of my life with. Until my kiddoes get out of high school, I see myself taking things a little slower.I am attracted to men:*** with a sense of humor! Mine I must admit is a little on the punny slapsticky side so this may not be for you. I am a person who believes that laughter can heal the soul. I have been through a lot of things in my life and laughter has always helped me through. *** who are hard workers, who are passionate, and who are givers, meaning that they are kind and have a big heart. I like to get dirty working in the yard, and love to volunteer my time to help others. *** with nice eyes (kind ones:) and a big smile! I am attracted mostly to the person's insides! (This may be in part too because I am a Biology teacher! LOL! And I want you to know it takes a lot of GUTS for me to do this because it makes me a little nervous! )My Goals: To be the best mom I can be. I know, and my kids know, that I am not perfect. We talk a lot about how we communicate. We talk a lot about always being in a place of growth and bettering oneself. Good Communication is very important to me as this was a huge problem in my previous relationships. I want to be a great teacher until the very last day when I retire. At that point, I would LOVE to travel. I love to travel now. I do this as money allows. But I would love to have someone to share this with, seeing different parts of the US and the world.I mostly like all kinds of music - country, classical, pop, rock, jazz, blues, folk, Christian...not into hard metal stuff:)I love to read and LOVE movies. Going out is great but also staying in watching a good flick is great too. Have started doing yoga, like martial arts, and go to the Y- am working on being a healthier person. I attend a non-denominational church.I love Mexican Food, Outback Steakhouse, Slightly Under-Cooked Brownies, Coffee and Pepsi, the smell of Vanilla and a fresh rain, oh and OU Sooners football! I think that a nice first date would happen after talking a bit through texting and over the phone. Possibly getting together for coffee at Starbucks or dinner at a restaurant

    I believe that you cannot take life too seriously, but you must be serious about life! I have a great compassion for human beings, and intolerance is one thing that I will not tolerate. I have a good sense of humor and laugh easily, but I also know when to take things seriously. I like to think that I balance my work, social, emotional, spiritual, and physical lives successfully, but that is not to say that I do not have things that I want to work on within myself. I think that people need to grow, change, and generally better themselves, and this, hopefully, will contribute to a better society.I look for the good in any situation, and I take pleasure in the smallest things in life. I am fiercely loyal, and will do anything for my friends and family. I am very outgoing socially, make friends easily, and will more than likely try anything at least once. I am big on living in the moment and being present, so if you are addicted to your cell phone, I am probably not the girl for you :) I am also kind of a grammar Nazi. Um, actually, not kind of. I am. I will own that. I am very easy going, laughter is always on my lips and I am pretty funny myself! I am a little feisty, not easily offended, and my mouth has been washed out on more than one occasion. Fortunately, I am a pretty quick learner, and I most definitely can take what I dish out. Food is kind of like porn for me, I try to be conscious about what I put in my body, and appreciate locally grown fruits and vegetables, organic products, and on Saturday mornings during the Spring and Summer, you will usually find me at the Farmer's Market. This is not to say that I don't enjoy a good steak every once in a while! I am a big fan of brunch, with bloody marys being the best part, and am convinced that breakfast meat is the best kind of meat. My taste in music is varied and can appreciate all types, but have a deep fondness for jazz and *** I like something that is kind of more in the background, although, one of my favorite things to do in the summer is go to outdoor concerts! My radio is usually tuned to NPR, with a CD on standby for when the world is too much :) For a first date, I would love to do something with a balance of fun and getting to know one another. I make so many decisions everyday in my own life, that it would be a treat to just show up somewhere and know that I am going to have a good time! I am pretty go with the flow and can have fun doing just about anything, so please, you decide! But not the movies :)

I am looking for a friendship first, and if there's a mutual connection beyond friendship, then I'd be willing to explore that.
