I believe that you cannot take life too seriously, but you must be serious about life! I have a great compassion for human beings, and intolerance is one thing that I will not tolerate. I have a good sense of humor and laugh easily, but I also know when to take things seriously. I like to think that I balance my work, social, emotional, spiritual, and physical lives successfully, but that is not to say that I do not have things that I want to work on within myself. I am big on living in the moment and being present, so if you are addicted to your cell phone, I am probably not the girl for you :) I am also kind of a grammar Nazi. Um, actually, not kind of. I am. I will own that. I am very easy going, laughter is always on my lips and I am pretty funny myself! I am a little feisty, not easily offended, and my mouth has been washed out on more than one occasion. Fortunately, I am a pretty quick learner, and I most definitely can take what I dish out. Food is kind of like porn for me, I try to be conscious about what I put in my body, and appreciate locally grown fruits and vegetables, organic products, and on Saturday mornings during the Spring and Summer, you will usually find me at the Farmer's Market. This is not to say that I don't enjoy a good steak every once in a while! I am a big fan of brunch, with bloody marys being the best part, and am convinced that breakfast meat is the best kind of meat. My taste in music is varied and can appreciate all types, but have a deep fondness for jazz and *** I like something that is kind of more in the background, although, one of my favorite things to do in the summer is go to outdoor concerts! My radio is usually tuned to NPR, with a CD on standby for when the world is too much :) For a first date, I would love to do something with a balance of fun and getting to know one another. I make so many decisions everyday in my own life, that it would be a treat to just show up somewhere and know that I am going to have a good time! I am pretty go with the flow and can have fun doing just about anything, so please, you decide! But not the movies :)

I guess I'm a "treehugger" why did they make me do that? Avid recycler would be better...I'd like to say that I am ridiculously optimistic and (almost always) wake up happy. I enjoy life, I eat healthy food and hope to go back to school to get my Master's degree in the next few years. I teach elementary school, which is demanding but fun. I used to travel but for now my focus is on work and home...I get to play more in the summer... I am very liberal-politically and spiritually, don't watch a lot of TV and get my news from NPR. I would love to find a man who helps motivate me to balance work and play, gets my wicked sense of humor and is emotionally/financially stable (at least relatively). Good chemistry is a must. I'm old enough to know what I like and still very much interested in adventures. I have an 8 year old son and a son who is ***grown and gone). They are the icing on the cake so it's important that the man I meet has a decent sense of family. I have high hopes but what the hell? Might as well put it out there... A good first date would be out for tea/coffee, dinner or a drink. I like movies,but not for a date. I would prefer to meet someone in a peaceful but public place.
