About Me

I'm somewhat out of practice at this dating thing and I've never tried internet dating before so thought I'd give it a go. In theory we're all on here for the same reason (starting to realise this is a bit naive!).I have a quite a wide range of hobbies and interests including walking, off roading (4x4) and boats (preferably fast ones), I read (a lot), enjoy films, play the odd computer game and spend far too much time DIYing but am always open to new ideas. Life is a bit slow at the moment - I'm looking for some excitement and someone to share it with!- I do have my (occasional) moments though!.). I love long conversations about anything from current affairs to complete nonsense! I love lazy sundays, pub lunches and nights out!I like pubs. Nice ones anyway, where they actually serve beer. In glasses. I love live music but prefer small intimate venues to huge gigs. I enjoy all kinds of music - Chopin to House and Trance and even (some) heavy metal! I do have particular favourites, but too many to list and you may not have heard of some of them anyway!.I am genuine, honest, loyal, faithful and reliable. Old fashioned values perhaps, but I stand by them. I do love a good cuddle, am quite hands on and tactile too and not afraid to show affection in public. I am fit and healthy and with a very young outlook on life.I'm quite handy and practical - I always seem to be mending things. Not travelled much but am quite keen to remedy this. I just loved safari and really want to do some more. Bit of a big kid at heart too.Now, who would I like to meet? I really just want to be with someone who is intelligent, articulate, genuine and trustworthy. Being tactile and affectionate are important to me too and someone who also enjoys the outdoors, pub lunches, snuggling in front of the fire on a wet Sunday afternoon or of an evening watching a good film would be perfect! I just love blue eyes too.I don't believe in going to bed on an argument. You (really) just don't know what tomorrow will bring. In case you are wondering, I have been separated for over a year. It's completely amicable and there is absolutely no chance of a reconciliation and no hidden nastiness.I would quite like to have children - it's not set in stone, but it is a definite preference.I do have a really really annoying and uncanny habit of just occasionally really putting my foot in my mouth and saying something really stupid.     I've lived a single life happily for quite a while, though maybe it's time I applied a little more effort to form female friendships.Life always tends to be very busy through work committments; like many others on here I guess. I also lead a fairly active life away from work. I've attended Latin/Ballroom Dance classes since January '08 and really enjoy it and I've also attended some modern Jive classes too. These can be great fun, though I have a preference for L & B; it's more of a challenge to learn! I like to go swimming once a week and my preferred method of transport is walking. I maintain an interest in ongoing learning and I'm always trying to find some interesting course or another to attend like fitting solar panels or trying to improve my french language skills. I prefer the simpler things in life; not a person driven by material needs. I enjoy good conversation, history, culture and generally taking an interest in what's happening around me. Like most pepole, I have a mixed taste in music, though I do enjoy listening to some of the music from the 80's/70's and earlier. One of my more unusual double albums would have to be: The Fureys (25th Anniversary Collection); a real mix of old songs/ballads. A former colleague was forever whistling 'Magic Moments. A Country Pub perhaps.
