I am a widower, so I have done the death do you part thing. I am looking for a serious relationship, for my new soul mate. I like trying new experiences and would be open to most things within reason. I have a 9 year old son who is number 1 in my life and is part of the package. I love the outdoors and travel when my time permits. I work at a University and have worked on several multi-campus and multi-college projects. Part of the job sometimes involves working with the federal government with classified information. That part of my life keeps me busy at times, which makes it difficult for me to go out and meet people. Thus I have created a profile here to see what the digital life has to offer me. One thing I have learned in my experiences in life, most American men are very clueless when it comes to their woman. I am not saying that I am an expert or anything, but the nerve of guys thinking their woman will work all day on a job and be happy to come home and do the dishes, cook dinner, wash clothes and deal with the kids while they sit and watch TV all evening or go fishing every weekend. What if they would consider taking the time and help cook dinner with their spouse or even help with the laundry. What quality time they are missing out on having with their spouse. I have made other husbands mad at me due to the fact that I would help with the house work. Why not I am doing it now as a single dad and if a woman is expected to work then she should get some help around the house.So what I am not looking for is a maid, a full time chef, or a baby sitter while I go running off with the guys. What I want is an equal partner to share the rest of my life with, that will be a good mother for my son (not a replacement). And yes there are some guys who believe that a woman should enjoy certain activities as much as the man, but that is another conversation. I am open to most things as stated before, and I am looking for a new best friend. Life is a big adventure and there are so many things to experiance and enjoy. Life is short, but this is not a race. So lets get to know each other and let things take thier course naturally.

i'm just like everyone else. looking for a connection that lasts. it's going to be very hard to find just by looking at a picture. a voice and expressions can make all the difference in the world! i'm at the point in life where im making sure my bucket list is short and the memories go on forever. im a single parent enjoying the years after and the hindsight now that my daughter is out on her own. i didnt realize i was gonna be so busy though. the one im looking for will have a smile that comes on like a light and a sense of humor that dominates above all else. a positive person is a must! she also has to like herself too. i cant if u dont!!! nobody's perfect and i'm certainly not but ive been around others who look at everything negative first. it doesnt take long to bring the whole room down like that! i"m finding that women have an idea of what they want and who they want in a relationship but don't realize that it isn't always as you imagined it...even when "everything u want" is staring you in the face. I despise stress and confrontation because in the end all it does is remove happiness and cause a heavy heart. I wont waste another minute of my life on it! i dont have a huge family but what i do have im close to and for that reason the holidays are my favorite time of the year. plus...right after the holidays is time to head south on a well deserved vacation! u will need a passport... however, weekend trips are also some of the best times to be had. amish country, roller coasters, a weekend at the races, a cozy bed & breakfast...what it really comes down to is a positive outlook and wanting to be happy!! and determined to make it happen! so far im doin a pretty good job by myself. but it wud be nice to find someone to experience it all with. while im not big on smoking, i do enjoy an occasional cigar and im not opposed to an occasional smoker but i have to limit it there. a walk in the park...a drink or two at a really nice restaurant outside...take the boat out on the river to a nice restaurant by the water...lots of options!
