About Me

A date, a friendship, a romance?Would anyone else like to have a date, that grows into a friendship, that might turn into a romance?Who else would like to talk, laugh, and enjoy time together with a special person?I hope to find someone that wants to share both low-key, relaxing times at homeand exciting, fun activities in the community. (or vice-versa)Developing a friendship, is the best way to start. If you too, are looking for someone to share the enjoyment and quirks that life has to offer,I would love to hear from you.I can be fun, and interesting. My sense of humor is pretty good, and I enjoy playful banter.I also have a peaceful side.I love to read, and enjoy spending time relaxing, and doing projects at home. The challenge is finding a fair balance between these two sides.I want to find a life partner that can be comfortable with just me, sharing a home-life.But not so sludge-like that he has no desire or energy to find and enjoy out of the house activities.A non-smoker.A man that doesn't take himself so seriously.A man that understands that kissing can be an art-form, if done well. Please . . .-cream cone.

My heart is on the trail between jagged, snow-capped peaks and rushing waters. Call me a determined optimist. I believe passionately in leaving a better world. I am spirited, smart, inquisitive, happily feminine, fit, passionate, and active. I’;Be joyful despite the facts." Among the identities I’ve worn and enjoyed are journalist, Congressional policy aide, and teacher. Being "mom" has been my most cherished role, and though that work is largely done, the pleasure of independent adult sons remains. For me, one kind of perfect day is a hike during the river roar of snowmelt just as tender lilies shoot up through the last glints of winter. I carry paper scraps and scribble notes for stories and poems. Then they go through the wash forgotten in my pockets but somehow, I remember key words. And pictures are indeed worth a thousand, so I *** clouds above tree line and between ridges. Share with me what brings awe to your life. I seek a co-conspirator for adventures, romance, comedy and laughter, delight, and trying on ideas. We all have tall wish lists. A few on mine: I want you to be smart, passionate, emotionally available, adventurous, kind, interested in personal growth, physically fit, and able to see the humor in life. Ideally, we are both lifelong learners. But not perfect ;-)I'm really looking for a best friend with whom I share playful, intellectual, physical and emotional chemistry. In my thinking, best friends do things together--apart, and sometimes separate things side by side. Though I can and do wear velvet gowns and enjoy a dressy night out--see photos, I'm most comfy in denim. I’m a passionate explorer and am hoping to meet someone with passions and experiences both similar and different than mine. There are many places and things I’ve yet to experience. For example, I'd enjoy learning to snowboard or ski. I am comforted standing next to glaciers that make me feel small. If you lose me on the trail, chances are I’ve found the perfect womb in an ancient tree to nest in.If you have a kayak or canoe, bonus points. If you can reteach me to flyfish or might learn with me, more bonus points. I adore being read to. Semi-sweet chocolate or a hand-picked bouquet will delight me. I love the city, too--plays, music, comedy, fine dining, etc. Yet if I had to choose between mountains and skyscrapers, I'd stop in the city on the way to or from the peaks. I can live in either the wilds or the city, and like to be reasonably close to both. Travel is a must here and there--that's part of the experience v. stuff.Being playful brings balance as I make my living with my head. Of course, all the usual apply. I cry at movies where the dog grows old and dies. You’ll find me enjoying all varieties of film, and I’m not above renting children’s movies that make me laugh. History fascinates me. I can root for the Seahawks win or lose. Good thing, huh?I’m very much a grown-up and still like stuffed animals that squeak. Though I'd love it if you lived next door already, I cannot be flexible on those four "chemistry" qualities, so I'm open to a wee bit of distance, as my work and life have some flexibility.--depends on cards in the next hand.I wish you the best. Let's chat about favorite people and journeys, walk and talk, and be ready for the possibility of magic. At the same time, I'm always open to new friendships--so "no pressure" on a first date is important.

I'm starting with my size so that anyone who wants to, can stop reading after this part. If that sounds a little stinky, it's because it seems somedays that every profile I read wants me to be a size 2 and I never will be. I'm currently a size ***and would like to lose 20 pounds which would make me about an 8 or so. I am active, not a couch potato, but I just really like how a lot of different foods taste and it's a downfall. LOL! If you're still here... I was engaged many years ago but despite still loving my fiance I chose to break it off so I've never been married. That's a common question on a first date so I figure I might was well get it out of the way. If you're curious, I'll give you the whole story about why I made that decision. I've worked for a large vacation company for ***years and unless the most amazing job offer comes along, I don't see myself leaving the company until I'm ready to retire. I love to laugh, I like traveling, I’m not always the greatest housekeeper, I sometimes get car sick, miniature corn cobs (the kind in Chinese food) sort of weird me out, and I hate flying. I know that doesn’t seem to match the “I like traveling” thing but it’s true. I’ve just learned to live with it because I like traveling more than I hate flying. I always waive at the ATM camera when I'm getting money. I'm in to girly things like cute shoes and jewelry but I also love things like camping and hiking. I can write backwards. Of course, the only real purpose it serves is that it’s good party entertainment. Oh, and I'm not addicted to technology so if you want to text your friends or play on your smart phone through dinner, count me out. I'm looking for a stable, honest, funny guy who has a little bit of mushiness inside for me. He should be able to make me laugh out loud but also give me goose bumps with the right word or look. Someone who compliments who I am but is solid on his own. I’ve dated some great guys but I haven’t been lucky enough to find the one I want to be with the rest of my life. I’m still hopeful that he’s out there.BTW - If you aren't interested in a long term relationship eventually, please don't contact me. Also, if you don't have a picture on your profile or you're not willing to send one with your first ***, I most likely won't reply. You got to make a decision about me based on the combination of my profile and my pictures, I should have the same option. Meet for coffee, dinner, or a drink. I'm open to what feels most comfortable to both of us at the time.

Looking to find someone who shares a love of life and good times with friends. I enjoy traveling - happy to find places in the US since there is still so much for me to see here.-- and will be going to Australia soon as my son is currently living there. I enjoy camping, long walks and just chilling - I am by no means a high end needy kind of person. I enjoy the small things in life - just happy at home with a book, watching a movie or hanging with friends. A quiet place to talk
