I'm in Internet advertising so I'm tempted to write a call to action like, 'Click Here For Free Shoes!' to get your attention but I'll trust that I don't need to woo you with frilly marketing gimmicks and you will simply read on because you already think I'm awesome.For now, I'll describe myself with three adjectives:I am Light, Droll, and Chortle.Drooling yet? It's not a vague description whatsoever, right? So What Do I Do? When I'm not working which is what? 8hrs a day 5 days a week- roughly 25% of my life? For another 25% I'm getting my 8hrs a night of beauty sleep. So I'm left with 50%. Funny this kind of reminds me of what the government does to my paycheques. Cynical? Maybe, but it's all for a laugh..Oh ya so for the other 50% I'm doing lots of different things like throwing the ball around, camping, canoeing, playing guitar, trying out new restaurants, making dinners that taste better than the new restaurants, and on a serious note, working towards my career (I work in search marketing) goals and the like. How Do I Entertain Myself? I love going out for dinner or drinks- a patio, or some sushi will work just fine with me. Certainly a night in with a movie or a bottle of wine is always an eye-catcher. Favourite Books, Movies, Music and Food Books:I generally go for the non-fiction type of book. But, some of my favourites include: Blink, Freakonomics, Into the Wild and, Oh, the Places You'll Go!Movies:OK, admittedly I believe I don't watch enough movies (don't know if that's a good or bad thing?). So, I'm totally game for someone to tell me, "ok, park your butt, we're watching movies". Here's my list of tops though: The Insider, Mulholland Drive, and Goodbye Lenin.Music:Pretty open-minded in this department....Too big of a list actually :PFood:Sushi, Indian, Thai, Pretty much everything! I'm not picky. Race car driving or coffee. Depends on the mood

    Change is the only constant in life, embrace it, adapt and grow :-) I am in the process of writing my PhD dissertation in the bio-medical sciences with the goal of defending before Christmas. Once I finish, I plan to do a post doctoral fellowship or two abroad, with the goal to become a professor (I am excited by the prospects of running a lab and mentoring graduate students), hopefully at a Canadian university. Other physical activities I enjoy include swimming (I have always loved the water) and playing squash (although I am getting rusty at it because my regular partners have moved away or quit due to injuries). I love experiencing nature and the connected feeling that comes with it; one of my favourite nature related activities is watching the sky: the sun, stars, the moon, northern lights, sunrises, sunsets, clouds, rainbows, and thunderstorms. I enjoy drawing, sculpting, painting, photography and playing music, but have not had the time to do them in a while. I enjoy travelling, especially experiencing other cultures, and would love to find someone to travel with :-)I am and have always been an atheist. From the little philosophy I have read, I would consider myself a secular humanist/naturalist (not to be confused with naturist); however, I do not consider any of these a religion. I highly value community, I spend most of my time hanging out with my family and friends. Part of this sense of community manifests as a desire to help others and I lend a helping hand when I can. Something simple preferably an activity where we can talk-a beverage (hot or cold), a walk, ice cream, mini-golf, pool.
