Ok, My hobbies are pretty varried. I like to do anything from yoga to boxing, or reading in a cafe to a wild sleepless night of wine and adventure. My goals? Well i want to travel more. Change is the only constant in life, embrace it, adapt and grow :-) I am in the process of writing my PhD dissertation in the bio-medical sciences with the goal of defending before Christmas. Once I finish, I plan to do a post doctoral fellowship or two abroad, with the goal to become a professor (I am excited by the prospects of running a lab and mentoring graduate students), hopefully at a Canadian university. I also teach kids math, and have taught a 3rd year lab. My musical tastes gravitate most to classic rock and metal; however, I like some songs/artists from nearly every genre. Fitness and health are important to me, I go to the gym often and try to eat healthy most of the time. Other physical activities I enjoy include swimming (I have always loved the water) and playing squash (although I am getting rusty at it because my regular partners have moved away or quit due to injuries). I love experiencing nature and the connected feeling that comes with it; one of my favourite nature related activities is watching the sky: the sun, stars, the moon, northern lights, sunrises, sunsets, clouds, rainbows, and thunderstorms. I enjoy drawing, sculpting, painting, photography and playing music, but have not had the time to do them in a while. I enjoy travelling, especially experiencing other cultures, and would love to find someone to travel with :-)I am and have always been an atheist. From the little philosophy I have read, I would consider myself a secular humanist/naturalist (not to be confused with naturist); however, I do not consider any of these a religion. I highly value community, I spend most of my time hanging out with my family and friends. Part of this sense of community manifests as a desire to help others and I lend a helping hand when I can. Something simple preferably an activity where we can talk-a beverage (hot or cold), a walk, ice cream, mini-golf, pool.

In no particular order;-I train in martial arts often, being healthy and fit, Most of my current goals fall within this pastime.It really drives me when my *** me struggling with a new exercise. One of the best feeling I've had is realising you can blow well beyond your limitations and do things you never thought possible.-Musically I enjoy just about anything, country included (work in progress)It's my sense of taste that's lacking (honestly, no joke)-I'm often told I'm a sweet guy, if you bring that side of me out I'm sarcastic, comical and you'll see those sides immediately.
