I'm going to start off on a serious note. I have a very balanced, simple life by choice. I've been told that I'm better on my worst day than most women are on their best day so if you're looking for a woman with a good head on her shoulders, you will probably be pleasantly surprised.Making other people happy makes me very happy. I am a caregiver. 'Needy' is not in my vocabulary, although 'lovable' definitely is. I am very good at creative problem solving, know how to hold a good conversation and can be very serious when need be, then in the next be silly as can be. I'm not going to try to oversell myself. I would like to date and discover things slowly and enjoy getting to know someone. Taking the next step after dating would be something I am open to. Space is very important to me and I cannot be put in a box. I would like a companion to get out and do things with, perhaps an intimate jazz club, even comedy night at a local hole in the wall. Currently, I am working on the illustrations for my first children's book having to do with invisible disabilities. I always have several projects going on at a time. I would love to find someone who can lead or be willing to learn salsa. I don't want to be rude in any way, but I would prefer to go out with an African-American man. Doing what is 'right' is of major importance to me, along with strength, integrity and wisdom. That will suffice for now ... and I will share more personal things about me as time goes on. I promise. And I have absolutely no problem forwarding more pictures :) 'First Date' doesn't sit quite right with me. I would prefer meeting at the park, talking, maybe even kick our feet on the swing set. I'm a realist. I refuse to type in this little box, "we can go to dinner, see a movie, take a walk on the beach ...." ' I believe that it's hard to pretend you like someone that you don't, but even harder to pretend not to like someone that you do.

I'm back. Again. After taking a break from meetville I find myself once again back here. Although this is not a bad place to be, its really not my intent to stay here for long.With that said, I'll give a brief description of me and what I am about.I am a single mom of 2 kids, although they aren't kids anymore. Both are over 20. I own my own home, car, work full time at a job I love. In my spare time I enjoy going to the gym, although I don't get there as often as I'd like. working long hours, house maintenance inside and out take up many of the 48 hours that I am not at my "paid" job.So if I find myself too exhausted from a long day at work, I enjoy sitting on my deck listening to nature, having a glass of wine and just decompress.I love going for walks, biking, sitting on an out door patio, going by the canal, taking a drive in the country, cooking a meal with someone over a glass (or 2) of wine, campfires, sitting by the water, enjoying nature. Simple things.I like to travel although haven't had many opportunities to do so. I do plan on travelling hopefully in the near future. Family and friends are very important to me. I will defend them and anyone else. I will especially protect anyone vulnerable - animals, children, elderly - without a second thought.Truth, honesty, respect is #1 for me. If you can't offer that in a relationship (friendship or romantic), then it wont work. Physical attraction will spark my interest, but sense of humour, personality and charm will keep my attention! Looking for someone genuine, who has a positive attitude, a great sense of humour, is laid back and doesn't take himself or life too seriously . If there is a spark and we connect, everything else will fall into place.It could be my old fashioned values but there's nothing more attractive than a confident guy who takes initiative. :0)I've put dating on here as what I am looking for but ultimately I would like to have a relationship. It all starts with friendship and dating.I have put 'a few extra pounds' on here as I find the majority of people do in some capacity or another have a few extra pounds - I'm no exception.
