I am looking forward to meeting a female companion that, first of all, I can call my "best friend" before anything else, and who, among other things, would enjoy sharing outdoor fun activities, as well as social functions, and, of course, last but not least, romance and love, as a couple. I am real, not into the bar scene, or playing "head games" with anyone's emotions. I love to chat, but I am also a very good listener and enjoy "in-depth" conversations. I believe that the simple things in life can give us the most pleasure. For example, a simple walk and talk holding hands can mean a lot. I may not be a world traveller, but I do enjoy going on road trips to different cities to shop or see the sites. I especially enjoy the outdoors, and love to ATV in summer and snowmobile in the winter because it gets me out exploring the beautiful country we have right here in our own back yard, and photographing it. When out ATVing one time in early Spring, I came across two abandoned 3 week old kittens on a railbed, that were freezing to death - brought them home, took them to the vet, nursed them back to health, and now they are healthy and playful brother and sister kittens. I never thought I would end up with two kittens, I was always a dog lover, but they are cute, fun to watch play together, and good company. I also like the finer things in life like theatre, fine dining, and attending various organized social events. Overall, I hope to find someone that is down to earth, healthy, and has a good personality so that we can compliment each other. I have been told that I don't look my age as you would see if you met me, and people have guessed my age to be in the forties, I consider myself an average looker, I am in good health (take no meds or pills), active, a non-smoker, social drinker if at all, never did drugs, and no tatoos. So, if you share some of my thoughts and think we may have some compatibility, I would be happy to hear from you! This is my second attempt at writing this so here goes. I think I am down-to-earth, sensible, friendly, intelligent and responsible and I am TOLD that I am good-looking and look younger than I am. Above I stated that I farm, but actually most of it is rented out and I don't spend too much time at it any more (I like to KNOW how much income I'm going to make each year and I want to have more free time to explore other things that life has to offer). I believe in sticking with your friends and family through thick and thin. Country life suits me fine but its nice to get away and find new places, meet new people and have new experiences. In the near future I am hoping to increase the amount of time I can devote to travel and seeing more of the world. When I go somewhere I don't like to just lay on the beach or sit at the bar (although they are enjoyable too) but I like to get around and experience the history, people and geography of an area. One son is out in Kelowna working and going to school so I have been out to see him on occasion and I really enjoy that part of the country. My pride and joy are my 2 boys who are both well started in their careers and seem to be well-adjusted and happy. Hauling them around to many athletic and school activities over the years I even got used to some of the music they listened to and although I still prefer tunes from the sixties, seventies and eighties I'll listen to just about anything. I enjoy get-togethers with family and friends (I have a large extended family) for meals, games, campfires and visiting. I enjoy cooking, especially trying new recipes and even experimenting (some creations maybe don't work out too well but it is a learning experience). I have a substantial asparagus patch that will soon be in full production and I csan't even begin to use it all so if you like asparagas I always have lots to give away in the spring. I also frequently attend local sporting events and fundraisers. I like to keep up with current events and have a wide variety of interests that, I believe, I can have an intelligent conversation about.(I guess you will have to serve judgement on whether "intelligent" applies). I seem to retain a lot of -sometimes useless?-information in this blockhead of mine but it comes in handy in Trivial Pursuit, Who Wants to be a Millionaire and settling arguments between my friends. I know that I have a great sense of humor (I seem to be using "I" a lot here) and would be looking for someone that can give and take in that department. Life would be pretty dry if we were serious all the time. I spent around 4 years as a single parent getting my boys through high school and then a few years getting them through post secondary, but now that they are on their way, so to speak, I am looking for someone to share this journey we call life. It would really be nice to have some-one to explore the world with, both near and far. I don't really have a particular kind of person in mind. I have friends with a wide variety of socio-economic backgrounds and I enjoy meeting with and interacting with them all. Honesty, generosity, compassion, independence, intelligence, humor and family values are probably the only DEFINITE requirements I have. When I read this it does sound like a lot, but I think they are all tied together in one way or another! If you can put these attributes together in a nice package, so much the better.
