About Me

Here's a little about me. I'm a somewhat outgoing person who enjoys good conversation about a variety of topics. I can be serious at times, but I usually prefer to keep things light-hearted. I enjoy going to auctions and antique markets to look at old objects because I enjoy history. I guess I'm always in learning mode since I'm a teacher. I just returned from Guatemala on a volunteer vacation (took some Spanish classes too), and I'd love to do more foreign traveling with a partner. I'd also like a companion to take in some of the nearby sights. I consider myself independent and low maintenance and I feel most comfortable in a t-shirt and sandals, but I always dress for the occasion.-received. I can also make a decent beef stew, meat loaf or even a pizza on the grill. So someone who appreciates the effort of producing my epicurean delights, but can hold his own in the kitchen when I'm too tired to cook would be much appreciated.I should also include that I think while I can be soft-hearted, I can occasionally engage in a little schadenfreude with the right company. So no one usually mistakes me for a Pollyana. I've got way too much chutzpah, and my quick wit and sarcasm are often apparent. So a match who's like-minded is a huge bonus in that regard. As a general rule, I try very much to conduct myself with pride and class as these traits are important to me and my family. I was raised by a teacher, and as a teacher myself, I try to be a role model for my students. But it's really like a lifestyle...it's simply the way I live my life.Regarding my match: I'm looking for an intelligent and intellectually curious, confident and financially secure professional guy who is compatible with me in a large number of areas. Someone who will understand and appreciate my little bit of independence, but is there when I need him. I'd love to meet someone who enjoys home improvement projects as I enjoy making improvements in my home. If I could find someone who enjoys biking on some of the railtrails in the area, that would be much appreciated.I'm fairly traditional, and I usually prefer to be pursued, rather than be the pursuer. But I've had my moments. For those of you familiar with the Myers- I also have a fairly strong moral compass, and since I'm a teacher you won't find me partaking in anything that might get me arrested! But I don't think that makes me dull either. With regard to religion, I was raised Methodist for the most part (we attended an Episcopal church for a few years too). That being said, I'm open to a partner who enjoys an active role within their church as long as we can find a happy medium.I'm looking for someone who wants to be with me as a companion and friend. And yes, we'd need chemistry to keep it interesting. Since my pug owns me, I hope you like dogs!Regrettably, I never had children when I was married for a variety of reasons. So I am open to matches with children, but I do have strong ideas about how to raise kids. So hopefully, if you have kids and we click, then we also share similar child rearing values. Depends on how far we live from each other. A quick cup of coffee to decide if we'd like to go to dinner is a good start.

I like great conversation, am an avid believer in public display of affection (as long as it is appropriate and not lude). I am very much a girl but am not scared to get dirty either. I do not like bugs! LOL I am looking for someone who knows his own mind and is able to think out of the box. Someone who is capable of having an intelligent conversation for more than two minutes. Someone with goals and aspirations in his life. Someone who genuinely is looking for someone to have a relationship with. I am not into speed dating or flings. I want someone who will encourage me to be the best person I can be, as I will him. Someone with an optimistic outlook on life. I am not a person who has to have alcohol in their lives daily. I am ok with a man who drinks socially but not excessively and knows when to say when. I am not looking for a man to raise (I have my own children). How great is your imagination?I don't really think dinner in a noisy restraint is a good idea, and the movies (although I love movies) aren't really a great place to be able to talk and get to know someone. Perhaps coffee or dinner in a quite place... if everything goes well maybe a walk near a lake or on the beach where we can talk and get to know each other.

    I have been divorced for about 5 yrs now I have a 11yr old daughter and a 16yr old son.They are with my ex almost half the time, so I do have a decent amount of time to myself.     Hello fellas! Thanks for stopping by. I don't really like to go on and on about myself, but I think that's what is expected here, so here it goes:All photos are within the last few months. The one with my nephews was taken late September ***.I like football, travelling, I cook, clean (sometimes),I like kids, well behaved ones especially, love to throw parties and can make the best margarita you've ever had. I have a great career, an amazing 13 year old son, and life in general is pretty stinkin' good. I am a "few extra pounds," but I'm still ridiculously awesome. I'm not jaded, nor do I need pharmaceuticals (legal or illegal ones) to be normal. I have a lot of friends and am very close to my family, especially my Dad. I can sniff out a player and liar a mile away so bring your A game, lol. I'm an adventurous foodie, and I might let you slide on integrity if you like Indian cuisine....:)Once in a committed relationship, I'm very much into affection and MORE...I find that most guys on here don't make much of an effort to start and carry on a conversation, so if I don't respond, that's probably why. Like kids, be adventurous, don't be intimidated by my Dad and you and I will get along very well. Any number of things would work on a first date - as long as conversation and company aren't dull! It's always nice to have an activity to distract somewhat from the awkwardness of first meeting - an icebreaker if you will.
